WOnder if anyone can answer any of these questions?

Has anyone got one?

What did you do to the floor? and did it work?

Has anyone bought that later turned out to need planning permission? did you get it?

Does anywhere sell them second hand?

Is it actually possible to tow them with a landrover?

I have one on skids as I have no other stabling so use mine as a stable too. I put rubber mats down on my floor and then a normal shavings bed. It does get a bit bumpy at times but you just lift the mats up and scoop out the shavings trapped underneath. I put mine up without planning but you should really have it as most fields need a change of use for horses. Don't know whether it is worth going down the second hand route to be honest, I use www.lloydsacre.co.uk and they are great and cheaper than other options without compromising on quality. I would think you will struggle to tow one with a landrover as they do bed down a bit in the ground over time. You would need a tractor to be honest. Good luck, it is the best investment I have made for my horse as he spends most of the summer in there escaping from the flies and heat...he loves it!

Has anyone bought that later turned out to need planning permission? did you get it? there is some kind of appeal thats gone through about a council taking someone to court re planning and the council lost. THink you can find the details of the case on the Redmires website.

Does anywhere sell them second hand? wouldnt know about 2nd hand ones but probably not much difference in price if you can find one.

Is it actually possible to tow them with a landrover? I was told that yes you can tow them with a landy BUT the ground conditions have got to be right otherwise youve got a cat in hells chance. I leave mine to the tractor to tow them with ease.

If you know of a good cheap supplier pm me please! The cheaper you go the cheaper the supplies will be - like the thickness of the wood, the quality of the skids. When I looked around there was hardly anything in the prices but when you actually looked at the quality of the prodicts it worked out more expensive as they used cheaper products therefore greater profit margins. I went with Redmires in the end - they are wonderful. The horses love them to bits and spend lots of time in them getting away from the flies (and also scratching their bums!)
 
Thanks a lot both of you. We're thinking Redmire and the hoping to get a long term lease of a ten acre field fomr a farmer (who owns a tractor) so as long as there is no planning issues should be all systems go!
