Tried the East Midlands page but no joy. Does anyone know anyone reliable that would perform a daily visit whilst I'm on holiday to refill water, poo pick, do evening feed and generally check all ok?

Have you tried the relevant FB pages? They are usually good places to ask. Try Leicestershire & Rutland Equestrians 
. I have someone very reliable do mine a few times a week who I found through word of mouth, however we are a little too far away & I know shes busy atm, but can ask if she knows of anyone freelance grooming out your way .

Thank you, didn't know about that FB page, will have a look. We are 3 miles east of Melton off the Saxby road. It's just for the odd night every couple of months and an annual holiday. I did promise my non riding partner that his whole world wouldn't come to a stop when I got my first horse so trying to balance a night away every couple of months and maintain an annual holiday!
