I have the ikea stool . I've given it a couple of coats of exterior paint , to match the trailer (sad I know). I've also purchased a chain that gets wrapped round two of the legs and through hole in step . The chain is then padlocked to trailer to make sure it doesn't go walkies. Key gets locked in car so I don't lose it as I am a bit hopeless. Does the job and looks very smart . Like the plastic mounting block but you can't really secure them , and they are waaaay out of my budget .

My favourite travelling mounting block is two milk crates fixed together with cable ties .
Very cheap and thus you can leave it beside the trailer with out worrying if it's going to be there when you return

I have those in my stable to hang the rugs up but I find they are not sturdy enough and did have one collapse on me when hanging a rug up.

Must be a different make to mine, surely?. It came through the Royal Mail in a single plastic bag unbroken. Mine's as sturdy as anything.

I've got a metal step ladder thing... (it's quite long, think it's called a platform). I padlock it to the trailer so it cant be pinched.... PS it's the Wickes one which ponios has....

Ikea two step kitchen steps are only a few quid.

Same, Ive got one from Ikea although its not a step type one, its just a solid plastic block with 4 little feet - think it was more aimed as a kids bathroom step but its very lightweight and handy to leave in the trailer for events. At home, I have brilliant big yellow solid plastic tubs which the farmer gave me for free (they have originally had licks in them for his cattle). They make brilliant sturdy mounting blocks and also fantastic water troughs - never had one break yet. So yeah, if you have a friendly local farmer it might be worth asking if he has any floating about. They're quite big to take in the trailer just for a mounting block but I guess you could put stuff in it like rugs etc. to make it more worthwhile.
