I like to look smart, but don't want to be spending Ariat/Premier Equine/similar type money.

Ideally want to invest in new yard wardrobe so:
Breeches
Baselayer type tops (Not Le Mieux)
Softshell type jacket

Where do you all buy from? I'd like to look presentable should I turn up to a clinic or lesson wearing to outfit!

Everything seems to have shot up in price! I tend to get breeches from either eBay / Amazon, the always seem to be a bit cheaper on there.

Horze also has some breeches on the cheaper side and tends to have a lot of offers on. Kraemer is also a good option.

For baselayers there’s a lot of “smaller” companies that do them around the £20-£30 range. Gray Equestrian do some nice ones!

If you don’t mind second hand then take a look on Vinted! I’ve had some great bargains on there, got a barely worn Aztec Diamond base layer for £12.

Kramer is fab for tops, I've had tshirts, hoodies, gilets and jackets from them, all fab, long lasting and hard wearing and you dont need a second mortage to shop wth them. I'm very fussy with breeches, but I only buy them in sales or ebay.

Primark have some nice base layers and technical tshirts in at the moment. Sizing was a bit off, so try on but nice quality. £12 for baselayer

Also Nevica ones from sports direct are good.

Got a horseware jacket from ebay for £20.

I like horserider tights which are great value.

I think the trick is to buy well, and buy once, but that means decent quality, and some branded stuff is very poor.

I have tended to buy Pikeur, or Noble Outfitter leggings second hand on ebay. I also have a couple of pairs of Horzehoods winter breeches I live in.

I have three Regatta, zipped, breathable waterproof gillets, flattering cut, smart, don’t attract dirt, with great pockets, think are about £20 each..

I have a couple of decent waterproof coats, and a few second hand non equine decent brands that I wash regularly (so not filthy!). The good coats only get used in proper rain.

I have one main colour of saddle cloth, and then I bought loads of matching polo shirts online cheaply (once I had worked out a good fit and match).

I have 3 merino wool long sleeved tops, with half zips for layering – were on offer from Mountain Warehouse.

Similarly I have a base layer with full zip from Mountain Horse, which means I can take it off while schooling.

Rydale is doing riding clothing now and seems very reasonable!

I love epplejeck and kramer aswell for deals and lots of more reasonably priced brands!

I tend to buy shires and Dublin riding tights and then match these with a range of t-shirts and tops from regatta, craghoppers etc. I also have some primark gilets that look really smart as farm wear. I have the odd horsey hoodie or top- a couple of Rydale and an Olvossa hoodie, but generally I wear cheaper tops.

I don’t like to look a scruff at the yard ( I made a promise to myself that I’d never ‘let myself go’ 🤣) but it’s amazing what you can do if you mix and match with cheaper/non equestrian stuff.

I buy from Dark horse Equestrian love the riding tights and base layers, I like denim breeches so buy le mieux and expensive ones when they are in the sale, I don't like coats much so buy gillets from Ebay or Vinted you can pick up good brands so cheap.

Equestrian shirts and polo tops I wait until end of season and buy in the sale, my local tack shop has a good sale section if you rummage.

Problem is, even if a start semi smart by the time I have picked out muddy feet, treated feet, handled muddy rugs, and done jobs, I am not smart anymore. That is a bit of a lost cause. But having enough semi smart clothes, that are durable and wash well does help.

I can add letting the yard cat jump on my lap to the list of how to not look smart around horses. He had very muddy paws

My stuff from decathlon has done OK for very reasonable prices. I also have a fair amount of stuff from regatta bought in the sales. Kramer has nice stuff but its more pricey.

If anyone has an alternative for noble outfitters please shout. My leggings have been fantastic over the years but finally needing replacement and no other leggings have come close to them for quality and comfort.

I'm a bit of a cheap skate, I only buy in sales and stuff generally must be 50% or more off. I got some nice softshell breeches and denim breeches from Harry Hall recently (they have a clearance sale on at the moment) and have a nice pair of Decathlon jodhpurs. For baselayers and jackets etc, I don't buy horsey brands, I buy decent outdoor brands when I can get them in a sale. Good sites to look for bargains on are https://www.sportpursuit.com/ and https://www.sportsshoes.com/

I agree that dark horses stuff is good! They have sales on occasionally too but I think they’re pretty reasonably priced in general

Still come up on eBay, set a search. I’ve got 4 pairs this way.

My general breeches are Harry Hall ones, originally bought some from Go Outdoors, liked them as in they actually fitted so bought some more from HH direct. As others generally buy none horse specific tops and my favourite pair of riding "tights" are actually Go Outdoors walking/hiking ones. I bought them to wear at work as the office is freezing but then sussed out they were brilliant for riding. I do have a nice Ariat top when local saddler had buy one, get one free for some reason and decided one would be a present for a friend and other a present for me.

The material just seems a bit stronger and hard wearing than some other stuff the base layers are really warm I find, they look really smart as well I often go down the shops in mine to save changing.

Last weekend I went to Mole to get dog food. Bought some Just Togs denim breeches/leggings. £29.99 and they are lovely!
They fit well and I’m not constantly hitching them up. I love them and will buy more.

I bought some Hy breeches the other day which were on sale for £19.99. They are cotton based and I got them after checking the label of some that I’ve had for years that are finally dying - I was amazed to find the same type still available.

I also like Kramer Equestrian, decent price and quality and is comfy and looks stylish to me, i think based in europe but they cover import fees so you dont have to pay extra
