saw the mojo tradestand today at derbyshire county show and was left baffled..... again!!!
anyone got one, know someone that has, or tried one?

Yep, my OH got one at HOYS. He had a "power balance" one before (he plays a lot of sport) he says placebo or not, he loves it. Who knows!?!?!?

I know the demo can be replicated with any other object. I'm not a believer, and I believe all sorts of stuff ;)

thats where in stumped!...
he made me the balance test a 3 different bands then the last one.i just couldnt balance. i thought ah ha ive proved it wrong. he said look at the one your holding and sure enough it was a fake without the magnet.

Derren Brown can make people believe anything he wants them too. We are lucky he turned to showbiz! No crazy voodoo stuff, just a very clever man who can read his fellow humans like a book! There are salesmen out there with the same talent I am sure!

Just beware of fads and inextricably talented salesmen! Check the science before parting with your cash.

Just saying :)

Be sceptical at all times :)

I don't know what they are. But what is wrong with "placebo effect",if it works?
:)

I don't like giving my money to con-men and that is essentially the situation here.

Someone (possibly JFTD) once linked to a site that sold 'placebo bands' that looked very similar, were sold honestly and were a tiny fraction of the price.

No it was rhino, on a thread in CR which would, no doubt come up via the search function should anyone want a cheapo skeptic band.

ozpoz Im all for the placebo effect, it's a demonstrable effect and you don't go putting chemicals into your body :) not sure if I would get a placebo from something I knew was rubbish though :o lucylockett's OH's use of it is perfect imo :)

I have nothing wrong with placebo effect.
I do have a problem with a band that costs aprox 20p to manufacture being sold using hoax 'balance tricks' to convince people they have amazing effects that they just don't have!

If Holograms really do have this amazing power instead of buying the wristband why not just strap the debit card you were planning on using to your wrist instead? The holograms on them are EXACTLY the same & you'll have an extra £30 to spend on lessons....which are scientificly proven to improve your riding ;)

I checked the science before I bought, the p-value showed a significant effect when trialling the product, this could be indeed due to the placebo effect but as confidence is mental I don't see what harm this can do. I have also done the balance test on several people and im no saleswoman (not for them anyway). im wearing one now ;-)
