A guy near me charges £50 and you only pay if he catches it. But he says you are likely to pay £100 because another mole is nearly guaranteed to move in as soon as the other one is removed. But be warned, they will set traps everywhere which is not good if you still have to turn out in the same field like I do.
I've been at war with my mole for about 2 years now and have tried various traps but moley is very wise to them all. Once they are used to traps they are a nightmare to get rid of. The last thing I tried was the smokes which just moves them out of the holes. This I thought worked but I have just noticed he has moved to the opposite end of the field so I start my mole war all over again. Good luck!
I too have this problem!! What we need is the WARRENATERS!
But at £1395.00 plus vat , i think i need a cheaper option??
However they do a free demo, or would that be cheeky
Mind you just had a look on their web site (as only seen it in a mag)
I think i would feel bad Blasting them! but if that's the only way to get rid of them and they are recking your land .
Had the "mole man" in early this year and he caught 14 little blighters! He only charged per visit, which I think was:
1 to set the traps
2 to collect the "quarry"
3 to re-set the traps
4 to collect as 2
5 to check there were no more in the traps and to collect the traps.
He said that he needed to re-visit to re-set, as new moles would come in after the old ones had been trapped. He was quite right.
Cannot recall how much it was but it certainly wasn't anywhere nearly as much as the price quoted above!!!
You would be fine still ride in field with traps down. As they are covered under the ground.
We have lost a few (I need to go with metal detector to find them) We have sheep & cows in field no probs.
It's just the damage they do with removing the soil & placing on top & the root damage to your grass underneath. After a while it can look more like a crazy golf course than a field with all the little mounds of soil (some not so little).
