Can anyone recommend what to feed my TB gelding who fizzes up on any feeds containing mollasses or cereals?

I have just cut out his Afla A and sugarbeet as im sure this is what was causing him to be hyper.

he is currently on top spec calm condition cubes and NAF pink powder
I am going to buy some Alfabeet to replace his sugarbeet but am not sure if i need a chaff/alfaA and what kind to use that is unmollassed?

thanks for any advice

[/ QUOTE ] You don't need to feed a chaff alongside the Alfabeet

. However, if you did want an unmollassed chaff you could try something like Spillers Readigrass.

alfa a oil has no mollasses in it neither does speedibeet. If you look on Dengie's website it gives you the ingredients in each product, i don't think alfabeet has mollasses

our new ony is sensitive - he is on simple systems but just introducing topspec feed balancer to see if he copes with it as needs to gain condition.

Fizzes on dengie alpha a lite and hifi lite and topspec conditioning cubes.

WINERGY Equilibrium Low Energy. No cereal, only 3.5% starch which is the same as HiFi lite and the same molasses as that and Happy Hoof. Worked wonders on mine, definitely worth a try!

Hi, I've gone through this for one of mine. Fibrebeet (mix of alfalfa and u/m sugarbeet) , D&H Fibergy chaff is the lowest sugar one of all. Be careful with nuts, molasses is the binding agent in them, some were OK for us (Spillers Hi Fi cubes, Scats Hi Fi cubes) others didn't work and sent him loopy again. He also has Blue Chip lami light which despite having molasses as one of the ingredients, he tolerates fine. Read all the labels on the sacks at the feed merchants, and then there may still be a bit of trial and error! Good luck, the effort is worthwhile when you get it right, you will definitely notice a difference.

new things just on the market worth a look at:
D&H equine sensitive
new spillers fibre feeds - cool fibre and conditioning fibre
A+P are about to release a new hi fibre cube as well that soaks down to a mash in 30 secs!!
