Mollichop - any news on Paddy?

Hi!

Yes finally got a call at 6.00pm to say he was o.k and they think it is all removed now. It was more complicated than 1st thought and he has an internal bleed of the lense. The piece of thorn removed was 4mm long and they have kept it for me.

Had hoped I could go and get him, as he gets so stressed and escaped last time  but she said they are keeping him very heavily sedated and on meds every 2 hours so he will stay for a day or 2 :(

I miss my little man so much, Hecty is very withdrawn too. Have been walking with friends and their dogs to give him company, but it is a very quiet house without him! :D

Coffee must be running through you by now! When do you get your connection back up?

What time is it? i'm teaching until 6 but could take Hecty for a change of scenery afterwards.

MollyM, Pads had an op to remove a thorn from his eye in April, vet wasn't 100% with how it was looking on Monday so referred him again, only to find they hadn't removed it all :( So another op yesterday! How is Herman?

Oh bless him :( Muchos vibes for him.

Herman - what to say about the silly old oaf? I did think about doing an update post but have mainly lurked for a while so didn't.... However. Sitting comfortably?

H had his KC vacc at the end of August then a couple of weeks later developed a weird cough/asthma attack affair. So we took him to the vets who gave him antibiotics but it didn't clear up so went back again and got given some different abs. Just to add a bit of variety, he had a very minor (thankfully) case of Haemorrhagic Gastroenteritis - nothing makes your heart leap out of your chest like seeing your dog s**t pure blood. So another vet visit for that and then back again a week later as his cough seemed to be getting worse. MORE abs and it never really cleared up so we took him to a different vets last week for a second opinion. Chest x-rays, thoracic (sp) wash, and blood and cytology tests later, the second vet can't find a bloody thing wrong with him. It was mentioned, a lot, that he is a big wimp  and that maybe, just maybe, that a little cough in a 'normal' dog was producing something of an overreaction in my drama queen of a dog. :shamed:

So, that's a £500 vet bill to be told that my dog is an amazing actor. We're not best friends at the moment. Well, something could still come back on cytology (going back tomorrow for check up) but we can't see it

Christ, they do know how to scare us don't they?! Well what else are you going to spend your money on if not Herman?

Poor chap, he may be overreacting but ******** blood? that's a tad worrying.

Aw massive {{{{vibes}}}} for the frilly one, hope you get to the bottom of it!
