Firstly- is it ok to be really chuffed that I've had my own post made for me?

Ahh I want that mare so much

i spent a long time the night before last drooling over that FB page...(found it as the girl selling and I have some mutual fb friends)...because she is absolutely ideal (apart from the female issue

). Seen her on horsemart too.
Think I recognise the yard in some of the vids and pics too- if it's where i think, it's only about half an hour away from me.
I ruled her out in terms of price though- 5k really is absolute max, and even that was designed to be negotiated down to 4.something or 4k. And also because I assumed that if anyone else thinks she is as lush as i do, she'll be gone by beginning of March when i'm officially allowed to start looking again.

Do you think I might be wrong? Is there a chance I could get her for 5k..? *prays for someone to give her hope again*

If you are a bit canny with your googling you will see that her results are really nothing much (dressage, RC ODE, BE) - maybe there's more and better that I didn't find but IMHO unless she is ULTRA safe and there's a lot more good results out there than I can see then you are being asked to pay an awful lot of money for her colour.

If you had the money in your hand then maybe a cheeky offer, but you haven't. Wait until you are allowed to start looking and if she's still for sale then try an low offer. Use the time between now and then to research a bit more about her.

FWIW I bought a mare of similar age and size, now she's not a pretty girl and she's a boring bay but she's evented to Novice and has been on all RC (and now PC) teams and I paid two thirds of what they are asking. She's ultra safe in everything we've ever thrown at her.

I'm such a numpty- i didn't even google her

Maybe if she is still for sale at beginning of March I'll have another look.
Much as I do like coloureds I certainly won't be going over budget for one

Thanks jemima_too

ETS hmm just looked at her BE- maybe not all that.

ahem jemima_too... tis nowt wrong with a 'boring bay'...

mollya... some of the vids on her fb were put on there 6months ago... has she been for sale for that long? if so, there is defo a deal to be done...

p.s. you have to save £243 to come on horsecamp...

Oh yes should also add, my last two horses have very much been boring bay. I'm not prejudiced
tongue.gif

Hmmm yes clipcloppop, but looking at her BE, she only did one intro last year, got 16 faults in SJ then withdrew.
P.S weeeell I'll have to see about horse camp, at this rate I may be on foot. But don't worry, I have scope.

*giggles*

It's just that I know Molly's a teenager and both the last two bays that I bought for my daughter were sniffed at by her peers as they didn't look very flashy. Both of them were utter sweeties who really tried to please though. I don't find bays boring (but I also have a very pretty dapple grey and a flash chestnut.)

sounds like she's optimistically priced perhaps? no harm in going to look at her when you have the cash in your pocket...

or... buy my friend's horse! he's a cutey.

But he's bay.

*Disclaimer- above is a joke- I'm NOT that superficial

I do really like him, looks to be a good allrounder. he has an adorable face too (just looked at the vid that's been happened- the shot of his face at the beginning- NAWWW). He is the top end of my age range though...hmm. May well go and have a look if he's still available at beginning of March
