Molting!!! Winter is Coming!!! Panic has Set in!!!

Panicking too,my stable roof needs replacing,was due to be done in july but had to rearrange so cant get hay in until thats done ,rugs are sorted and am buying extra bedding and haylage and fibre blocks in anticipation. I am looking for a new horse as retiring my mare and starting to think of waiting until spring.
 
horses do start moulting in mid august. At least mine have for the past 40 so years. nothing to panic about OP.
 
In reply to one of the earlier post I regarding how to clean a magic brush. Whack it on something hard and then scrape it on a metal curry. Mind your knuckles. I forgot to tell my mum to do half the brush and then turn it round and do the other half and so she skinned her knuckles. Whoops!
Magic brushes are also great for getting hair off saddle cloths before they go in the washing machine.
 
My grey and white's snowing all over the place when I brush him. Little piles of white hair when I pick it out of the plastic curry comb and a sprinkling of white with hoof prints left clear when he moves. Who made me buy a grey with lots of white :( Saddle cloths seem to have a permanent white lining even after washing, I've had to resort to hovering the hair off before washing them and my Thorogood dressage saddle has white hair stuck all over it. But, he's so cute and handsome I can put up with white hair over everything LOL

It's losing the light evenings I hate since I can't get to the yard before 6:15 after work :( Still, maybe we'll get some nice soft ground to have a gallop on soon since it's been hard as concrete most the summer.

Re previous post, I might well try a magic brush, especially regards the getting hair off saddle cloths tip :)

Yes mine too is shedding ! Winter field currently being prepared all ready. Will be on acorn watch very soon!
 
Shh dont mention it. Im in denial!!!! I was planning to do sooo much riding in the summer, where has the time gone.

I think I am prepared apart from the re-proofing of rugs, went as far as getting prices from a local lady a few months ago and have though... oh ill sort it all out in a bit ive got ALL summer!!!

AAAHHH panicking lol
 
mine never stopped shedding, we are still waiting for summer, weve got to reseal the field shelter roof and havnt had a dry spell long enough to get it finished :( im preying next year we get a half decent summer
