First winter went well he’s such a calm relaxed and happy boy, we’ve had a few lessons and hoping to go his first show soon, feel like I’ve had him a life time, really do need to sort gelding him out aswell but as he’s been so chill and easy and the muds only just going I’ve held off

He looks very sweet and I love palomino ponies but the stood up picture worries me if that is his natural stance, I appreciate its a moment and not always a reflection of how a horse can look.

I would be wanting to encourage a low head carriage and get him standing square his front legs need to be more forward and back legs need to be further out, I know his only young but you need to not encourage him to stand like that, doing a few in hand shows will set him up and you can then get an idea of how he should be holding himself.

I only commented as one of my Arab's struggled a bit with abnormal posture it's much easier to correct when they are young or later on in life it can cause so many issues.

Use treats to get him to lower his head even in the stable just encourage him to reach down as much as you can, when leading him just be mindful of how he is holding himself.

I think if you upload videos on you tube you can put the link on here I think that's how most people do it.

The difference in him since been with baby’s as opposed to the older mares is crazy! He was such a little follower before now he’s grown in confidence so much some photos from when they came in for the farrier don’t mind the state of the stable that was destroyed by morning 😂😂action shot is mid leap in the air 😂

Having had my best lad diagnosed with Navicular changes and he isn't coming right other than gentle hacking, I subsequently bought unseen a few weeks ago, a 2 year old well bred appy from a very reputable breeder. Haven't regretted it yet....lucky enough to have a spare field which needed grazing desperately, suitable for babies, so mine and a friends youngster are living their best lives. He will come home for light backing next year and popped out again or maybe some in hand shows and basic stuff to get him ready for the world.

I don't doubt I will have challenges but I find it boring when it's all rather easy, never had ready made, always had a few years of hard work but for me personally, I get a lot of satisfaction out of that and bringing a tricky one on to do the job they need to.

If you have the time, money and facilities, then go for it!
