Morning all,

To avoid the ludacris prices of internal stables I bought some from Facebook ? Dangerous, I know but all seem fine.

ive got a front partition with sliding door and then 3 sliding doors with grilles. Ive got a builder who is going to construct block walls and the panels.

At the moment it looks like massive set of Meccano. I want to avoid the builder wasting his time try’s me to figure it out, so I wondered if anyone had instructions of how to put together the front partition with a sliding door???

all help and pictures would be greatly appreciated!

Have you tried contacting Monarch directly? They must at least have diagrams of how everything goes together, if not some instructions they could email to you.

I've got monarch internal stables. 4 with sliding fronts and one with a stable door.

Previous owner installed them and it looks relatively straight forward.

What pictures from what angles are you needing? I can try to take some tonight if that helps

Just checked and I dont have any decent pictures on my phone. If you ignore the horses and my mum these are our monarch stables, are they similar to yours?

What you're after is fixing/construction details, I would expect they have a standard set of these but they're not readily available on their website or elsewhere on the internet.
As you say this is just a giant meccano set and I'd expect any builder worth their salt to be able to work it out fairly quickly. The big thing I'd want to check is what fixings they're using and how they're fixing it back to your structure. If you've been provided all that in your purchase then I wouldn't be unnecessarily worrying at the moment.

I have just had Monarch internal stables with sliding doors built and no, there are no instructions on how to. I have plastic panel and grille half and half partitions as well. We telephoned, emailed and FaceTimed Monarch several times and they were willing to help but not much help to be honest. My builder and his 14 year old nephew just figured it out in the end and the stables are great. It took a whole day to get the first one built and went faster after that. My builder was full of cold which turned out to be a debilitating virus, not that one, and frustrated as all get out. I think I was quoted £3,500 for building by the Monarch agent here in Ireland and I only have three stables and a solarium but that might have included the six windows I purchased from them as well.

I find it absolutely amazing that a company like Monarch do not provide instruction son how to assemble and install their stables. I was considering buying some but I shall stay well clear!
I absolutely agree. As Abbijay says, any builder worth the title can figure it out in the end but on a day rate of €180 + €50 for the lad it is annoying that they need to figure it out. With assembly literature it would have taken one day to build all three not three days.

Thanks for everyone’s help. I was going to buy new from monarch but there customer service and cost was ridiculous (£10 000) for 3 fronts and 3 partitions. I’ve been quoted £1400 in labour to put the meccano set together (he also doing a lot of block work hence but obviously charging extra for the block work) he’s quoted so high because he doesn’t know how long it will take so he guesstimated. I was hoping to bring the price down a little. ?

I did get a lot of fixing but because I got a mixture of front wood/grille partitions and grille/sliding doors that go into blocks were not sure which fixing go into what.
The bit I’m not sure about, is how the tracks fit to the top of the partitions and I have a separate bit which is about 1 metre which I have no idea where it goes.

To be honest I did a lot of research into a lot of internal stable companies. They are all roughly the same price (expensive for what you are getting) and the sales service is terrible. In fact I posted a thread asking what I was doing wrong as I couldn’t believe how bad the service was when I was wanting to spend money on stables with the potential to build school, Walker etc.

Why would Monarch be in a rush to help someone put up second hand stables .

They did however put up mine (I don’t have sliding door doors so I can’t help ) their service was exceptional .

Monarch supplied a walker to a contact of mine and they cannot even service it - told her to find a local engineer. I have a Claydon walker and they come regularly to service it and on the rare breakdown occasion (it has been in for over 12 years) even the boss came down himself to get us going again. I know where I would spend my money again and where I would not go!

You’re right, although I haven’t asked monarch, I can’t imagine they would be in a rush to help someone put up second hand stables. Which is understandable, considering they are not going to make money out of me

...but does the Monarch website have pictures that you can download that might give your builder a clue on where to start??

I have monarch internal partitions with sliding doors - let me know what bits you’d like photos of and I can hopefully help.

We had ours installed by monarch and they were very good, albeit pricey. I’ve just asked them to quote again for an extra partition but apparently they’re rushed off their feet and it’ll take some time.
