Is funny, if this had happened to me I would not have assumed that my sharers had not paid more that the money had gone awry. Have a good check and ask your sharer to double check with her friend, but if it goes once, it could rather horribly suggest that someone else has taken it. In which case I would feel justified in then suggesting a DD or similiar to protect all.
not sure what you mean here? also whats a DD lol?
Sorry, so a DD is a direct debit. I meant money gone astray either by accident or a 3rd party.
It shouldn't do, I've never paid anything to move it into my bank![]()
What has getting your 'share' money and paying your livery got to do with anything? If you can't afford your livery then I question whether you you should have a horse. If your sharers quit what would you do? Start taking responsibility and ask for a weekly or monthly check that can't be lost or mais-placed.
I think if it's over a certain amount it charges you - I'm pretty certain it charged me after I sold some pretty expensive riding boots. OP if you don't want to go down the bank transfer route what about getting a piggy bank or slot box with a padlock on it and keep it in your locker?

Harsh and unfair. If you are on a budget, like most of us are and are anticipating certain monies coming in, it is most unhelpful to lose it with no notice.
Tell her what's happened. I'm a sharer and do a similar arrangement. I would want to know if it had gone missing to rectify situation one way or another. Do say something, though. It'll fester with you otherwise and there may be a reasonable explanation.
This.
My friend and I when we used to share the yard would leave any money hidden in a bag or envelope in the chaff bin (mixed in with the chaff so it couldn't be seen!)
It was only us 2 but we always worried if someone broke into the tack room they would take it if they found it (it was normally money owed for feed, or for the farrier if the other was holding the horses that day etc)
Anyone could have seen your sharer, their friend or even you putting money in / taking money out of the tack box. We all read the threads about nightmare livery yards where expensive bits, tack and even saddles have gone missing so some cash left unsecured is an easy target.
Just out of interest how do you know it is this specific sharer's money that has gone missing?have you checked that the other sharer had definitely left the money when he said he would? Just a thought ...
Well, if everyone now knows the money went missing then all that's to be done is between you work out a secure way to leave the money in future. I'd also mention it to YO because if there's a thief about, they ought to be made aware. Then I'd just move on and forget it. Put it down to experience.![]()
Oh ok sorry I just know what I am like sometimes at forgetting to get cash out!
