Anyone else read this? I do hope some of the people on there are joking as otherwise they are a danger to everyone.

A flavour of the comments

have you ever seen a horse with a valid mot , road tax , insurance ?
if you own a horse you should own land to exercise it or you shouldnt own a horse !
you lot are a pain, horses were never meant to go on tarmac so stick to what your animal is comfortable with and leave the road to the road users

It is not possible to despise horse riders more than i do. I live out in the country side and the roads are riddled with them.
It was only last week i had a 13 year old doing hand signals telling me to slow down or whatever. And they never thank you, you could drive at 1/2mph and 15 mile wide and you wouldn't get a single thank you.
As for them selfish bstards who ride 2 wide on a corner as though to say "yeah, wait for us" i just tear !!!! past them close and fast <font color="purple"> </font> <font color="purple"> </font>
 
Yes i can understand that but there are many people on there who are suggesting horses should be banned from roads.

Also everyone should poo pick as they ride along, I suppose we could order those horse diapers that they use in the US.
 
And do you believe they are entirely serious? Or that they will be in any position to enfore their beliefs?

Is this post for real! I love riding my horse and try and be as polite as possible to other road users, as horses are animals with a brain it is not always possible for me to take my hands off the reins to wave a thank you as I may be trying to control them from shying at something in the hedge. I had to get rid of my previous horse due to her being scared of traffic and people driving too fast.
Please be nice to riders, we are just normal hard working people out enjoying our hobby.
 
don't get too worked up about it - I personally find cyclists wind me up a treat, everyone has a pet hate - how many people rant about driver's on here??? and I kinda agree with the guy who say's riders never say thankyou - I'm afraid the minority do not.(although if he Passed me fast and close I'd kick his mirror off!!) Also alot of what is written on these forums is a bit less than the whole truth, people try to big themselves up to look tough or clever......

If you have a problem with a driver report it - to the police and the BHS. We do have a RIGHT to use the roads, and often have to to get to bridleways, well, those that are left after being built over....
 
I dont like rude riders i think you should have insurance, wear hiviz and be polite on the roads. On the other hand i dont like rude drivers either. My real pet hate is people on bikes with no hiviz, no lights and no brains, always seem to be wearing black on a black bike, how are we supposed to see them?
 
good grief I thought that martin lewis bloke was a 'money saving expert' not lets allow our forum to bash horses today!

Won't bother to listen to him on gmtv from now on

do they not realise horses were on the roads before cars and personally i have to ride on road to get to any bridle ways as im sure others do too.
I do thank drivers though.

I can't comprehend how it is that so many people seem to think that we choose to "prance" about on the roads rather than ride along a nice bridlepath? The problem is that if you don't know anything about horses it is easy to pick holes i.e. whoever sarcastically commented about taking his goldfish for a change of scenery.
 
Why do people bring road tax up all the time? It does not go twords maintaining the roads. Thats what your counsil tax is used for.

Am stunned at the attitudes.

Whatever about anything else.. do they know (in particular that idiot with the A4 doing 60mph within an inch of a horse) what will happen to THEM, let alone the horse/rider, if they hit that animal ? They are not going to come out alive if they hit a 500kg animal at that speed.
