I've decided to sell my equipe expression special saddle :( instead of adjusting it i think there is to much risk of damaging the carbon fibre tree
So I had a talk with my instructor and saddler and they think that a monoflap jumping saddle will be better for him, so ive done some research and it looks like the Jeffries JMX jump/event saddle is specially designed for warmbloods which have large built up shoulders and flat foreign backs which is typically Bacardi so im hoping to try one and get the saddler to check it fits :)
However theirs not many reviews on the saddle and just wonders peoples opinions on the saddle and about monoflap saddles as people have said they are quite different to ride in  so any advise is must appreciated :)

I ride in a mono flap event type on a horse at work, it's much more forward cut then anything I've ridden in but other then that it's no different! X

My current saddle was bought as a mono flap ( my riding instructor bought it from new) but she changed it back to a 'normal' saddle flap after 6 months as she found it uncomfortable... She said the leathers rubbed her legs...

PS I don't know what size youre looking for, I just saw your description of your horses shape which was like reading a description of mine who it fit perfectly- he's a 16.3 WB

I have the ideal impala pro monoflap and hate riding in anything else now!

I find them really secure and it has improved my position as its less bulky

Just in the process of buying the same saddle for my other horse :)

I have a wow XC flap saddle with a shallow seat, and I love it to bits. When I occasionally ride Tom in his stubben now, i find that the girth buckles make my legs sore as I'm so used to them not being there on the wow!

Mine was a Flyover monoflap, and it was the best saddle I ever rode in. Felt so close to my horse that it was almost as if there wasn't anything there at all. Very comfortable seat too.

If I ever was to ride again i'd definitely get one of these, but yes they are different from "normal" saddles so you may take a while to get used to it.

I ride in a monoflap Devacoux and just LOVE it! so stable and secure and so close to the horse. also seems to fit both of my horses really well, so I guess I'm lucky.

I have a prestige paris monoflap. I do like it to ride in. I find you feel closer to the horse, and compared to my other saddle my lower leg position over a fence is a lot better!

I personally think the monoflap concept is much more about the rider than about fitting the horse - some riders love them, some hate them, they definitely give a totally different feel. It is entirely possible to get a close contact fit for the horse without going to a mono-flap, the ultimate close contact is a half panel which I use for very tricky ponies and cobs.

The lack of the buckle bumps under your leg is lovely very hard to go back to a traditional panel after you have one.

I love my Black Country monoflap! Makes me feel really secure. I've used it for backing my youngster. It's very lightweight and makes you feel really close to horse. The only issue I've had is its a bit awkward hanging off the side of a wobbly, unsure youngster to tighten the girth :D but that's just my situation! Try one if you can, it is a slightly different feel as you're more wedged in place, but I personally like that!

I have a Stubben Special MF loosely based on the Roxanne, I absolutely adore riding in it but am selling it because no way will it fit my young'un!

Wouldn't hesitate to have another.

We had an Equipe Expression Monoflap saddle & loved it, why are you not considering one as you've already got an Equipe & appear to like it?

The horse we used the Equipe on drastically changed shape, filled out & muscled up so we needed another saddle. We pushed the boat out on a Devoucoux & traded in the Equipe as part of the deal. Obviously the Devoucoux is a good saddle & should be as it's about double the price of the Equipe. This takes nothing away from the Equipe Expression mono flap being a nice saddle as well.

Thanks every one for the great response I tried my friends monoflap jump saddle on Bacardi today it was a devoucoux saddle it didn't fit Bacardi as well as I liked it to be but it it fitted better than the equipe so I had a quick ride to see if I would be able use one, and I found that it was amazing to ride in and felt so much more contact with him. Bacardi was so much more relaxed and seemed to have so much freedom with his shoulders for such a forward cut saddle :) So defiantly going for the monoflap type but not sure on what make yet :) But it has narrowed the search down a bit :) Saddler is coming out tomorrow so hoping that he'll have one that fits :)

I've had Passier Military II monoflap saddles forever. 5 Kg weight without fittings and comfortable (if you fit in an 18" seat.
