Any one have any advice for me or share the same problems?!
My welsh dx gelding loves his job and is great at it, but his stressy, bolshy, worried side is really letting him down and getting down!
Some one tell me it gets better with age?
One day he can be chilled and calm and go anywhere, the next day it's like he has never been in a stable with out his pals and freaks out then spooks at everything!
I don't know what triggers it, any advice?

Yes forgot to mention, tried calmers, currently on pure mag but does not seem to do much :(
I do admit that I am not the best at teaching him on the the ground and often ignore some of his bad habits, so wondering if any one has can recommend a good training book/programme I could follow?

I like Micheal Peace and Kelly Brooks for groundwork training. I am a novice, and far from perfect in the way I handle Boyo, but I believe consistency is the key... even if I don't always manage to be 100% consistent, Boyo's manners have improved quite a lot since I have been part loaning him. I do lots of walk/halt/back up transitions in hand, and it has really helped, spend as much time as poss grooming and scritching his itchy bits, asking him to yield to pressure in hand and in the stable. It's really improved his manners

Like I say tho I am a novice, and have 'learned' these techniques from books and youtubing, not from a proper instructor....
