Moody Mare stories?!

There are a few 'Moody Mares' on the yard, who bite and kick whilst you do up their rugs etc.

My own mare is not moody as such, just quite aloof! She is a constant mystery to me, whilst my gelding is as easy as ABC. :)

I think a lot of folk are quick to dismiss bad behaviour as Marish behaviour. Iv only ever had mares & wouldn't tolerate any of that crap from Amy horse regardless of gender! I don't get the ask a mare thing. Mine has to be told or else she sometimes says NO! :D

10 yrs ago I had a welsh x tb mare on loan with a view to buy she was evil lol one day while getting her ready for the field she bit me on the boob, boy did that hurt. Then the same day getting her in she kick out while picking her feet out, she caught my thumb and broke it badly. She was also a nightmare to groom and tack up, so I had the vet out who gave her a good going over, bloods ect, turns out she had problems with her overies (sp), her owner had her back and the mare had the operation to remove the one that had growths on it. I had her back to try again but the operation had put her back and pelvis out so she was only really sound if the ground was right, so was retired. She was still quite moody though.
