Less said about the dressage the better, she did an appalling tense test which really upset me as we've been working so hard and she felt so amazing in the warm-up until about 10 mins before we were due to go in. Spent most of the test leaping and skipping. Not amusing!!

Onto the sj, the course seemed to be causing quite a few problems which was a bit odd as it wasnt big. However, 1 and 2 were tiny then there was a nasty turn away from the collecting ring to a bigger parallel and a related distance to a spooky wall thing then another turn to a spooky filler that loads were stopping at.
Moon wasnt really focused and didnt jump 1 and 2 well then didnt really get the turn to no. 3 and we had a 'resistance' IE we stood on our hindlegs for about 5 seconds! Was very careful not to turn a circle and trotted her into 3 and to give her credit, she really pinged beautifully after that! So she jumped clear but got a really annoying 4 penalties for loss of momentum on the turn.

Xc walked quite small but there were a couple of things to question her and she jumped really beautifully around, made everything feel very easy. She popped through the bounce fantastically which was my main worry. Didnt push her fast as she's running at Gatcombe at the weekend and ground wasnt great so we got 18 time.

So in my eyes she did a cr*p dressage but jumped double clear!!

double clear good in my eyes

Deri's problem was also at fence 3. She came round that corner and simply planted, wouldn't really entertain the fence. Was very frustrating, but Sara'll know to warm her up longer and get her more listening in the ring next time.

Just got back from town spending a fortune in Millets - honestly fun rides in the morning, Broadmead in the afternoon - who'd want to go eventing!!!
Mind you the fun ride was hysterical, even Shads was excited for about 10 minutes. He felt completely at home amongst all the cow coloured ponies, only problem is he now wants a treeless saddle and bitless bridle

Shame about the dressage - but fantastic to have a double clear under your belt

Dressage can always be improved and jumping a double clear just makes the day worth while

Yep, young horse section. If she copes well xc I will be thrilled

Naughty Moon in the dressage - sounds like she's been chatting to Boss

. You will have to have words with her that if she doesn't behave herself she doesn't get to do the next two bits. But good girl for the xc

Well done on the double clear, sounds like she really loves her XC!!

Shame about the dressage but going well in the warm up certainly a step in the right direction. Good luck at Gatcombe!

Was the dressage near to the Xc or something, or was there another horse from your yard there too.
Flo had a clingy day at her last event as our grey mare was competing too, but Moon should be past that stae by now I imagine.
At least the jumping (ie the important) bits went well.
Good luck for Gatcombe.
