And hopefully the first of many happy reports
Mrs Moon hasnt been out since September last year so I was expecting the worst. We finally decided on the eventers day at Addington- dressage at novice level, simulated xc and then a round of sj at 1.05.
Day didnt start wel when I realised my jackets had been taken out of my lorry so I had to dash to countrywide farmers and pick up a cheap one! Moon was stressed, I plaited her up and she stood there hicupping. Never mind, we set off on time.
Timed it well so had about 25 mins warm-up which worked out beautifully- she was very good in the warm-up, even when someone got bronced off and the horse proceeded to entertain himself by galloping round bucking.
Went down to the arena and she reamined calm and happy, did a really nice test. She was listening and focused despite the close proximity of the jumping arena and did some really nice work- felt very rideable
Had a little mistake in our medium trot and the 2nd centre line wasnt great but apart from that I was very pleased.
Went pretty much straight onto simulated xc- it was quite spooky and nicely up to height. She jumped super, took a advantage of the fact I was allowing her to move on to get the time and took a bit of a hold- had one down as she was a bit quick off a turn.
Then into sj which was disappointingly small- could have passed for a BN. Moon's not great with small but she did a nice round and finished clear.
She ended up 6th which I was really pleased with as there were a couple of advanced horses in her section.
