I think the music for his routine is incredible. It enhances the routine and makes it even more spectacular than if he was trotting around to the sounds of Abba. Thats my opinion anyway hehe.
I didnt like his extention at windsor but today he looked much more balanced, and I really enjoyed his performance. x I love Leibling too though anf thought that was fab!
Thing is, yes, he's amazing and yes, he deserved to win it with an amazing score BUT he still has room for improvement. He is only nine. Will we be seeing him score 99.9 or 100% by the time he's fully established? At this rate the judges will need to be careful they have marks left to give him!
I don't want to take anything away from what was essentially a stunning performance, but I'd be interested to see a breakdown of the scoring - hopefully it'll be published? H&H?
whats lovely to see, he is so quiet in his body, so in balance. I know horses get swishy tails when they are doing the expressive movements, but his tail hardly moves - he is just so relaxed. Awesome animal and with so much balance despite all that movement!
And he has the best piaffe by a mile, hardly moves an inch!
I was one who really didn't like the fact he didn't match in front/behind at Windsor - what a difference last night - amazing test and so much improved
Totally awesome. I love the way when he finishes he just walks out calm as you like on a free rein, acknowledging the crowd like 'yeah, i know, i'm the man'
He was incredible, much better than at Windsor (which was pretty bloody good). I really, really, really HOPE that this isn't the last time we get to see Edward riding him, they are an amazing partnership.
What a horse. Those pirouettes - I've never seen anything like them.
It was a night to remember his performance pure class and it is the ease and relaxed way he works that sets him apart for me. Pure talent and to watch Edward Gal just grin through out the test shows they are having a ball and there is more to come.
Agree totally with Maestro. He just looked so calm. It seemed as though you could have heard a pin drop in there & what made me laugh was the commentators barely spoke throughout their performance. Definitely first class.
even if you don't appreciate dressage you have to enjoy just watching the partnership between Edward and his horse, the horse looked relaxed, attentive, responsive, and from what I could see Edward looked light in the hand and was asking with the most minimal of aids their understanding of each other is fantastic
he is so relaxed...
how does he have such huge movements without tension..
lovely.
his tempi changes have improved alot too and he has more to come if he stays sound.
