On another forum, I was told that you should tell the breeder if one of their dogs turns out to have an illness in case they are still breeding and it happens again.

I feel that Jake and Brig's breeder was not in it for the betterment of the breed (pups were hopping with fleas, came with nothing, no advice pack, no injections, they were chosen for us and I had no idea about choosing pups) but I'm thinking I should still tell her about Jake, if she's still breeding.

What do you think?

I doubt she has the same dogs, maybe related dogs, given Brig is 8 this year.

Jake had multiple tumours, spinal, stomach. I'm not sure if cancer is hereditary? He also snapped both cruciates-no idea if that's hereditary. Brig has no related issues AFAIK.

I've always told J's breeder of his (various!) problems (luxating patellas, elbow dysplasia, allergies and both him and B who are first cousins mitral valve problems) but everytime she says she's never heard of any of them in any other dog! Make of that what you will!
