More 5* entries - Pau and Maryland

I thought that it was so great to see how happy Monica was with her horse and their result despite giving up the lead that they held for two phases.

I also loved the commentary from Austin O'Connor for XC and Ian Stark for SJ. And I agree, they really drug things out. I know it's a small number of people but come on... it was ridiculous to have the 5* dressage split over two days. I do hope that the entries rise in the coming years!

I think it was great he listened to her very clearly saying no, but I’m a bit 😱🤨 that a superficial over reach caused that type of reaction - seriously, event horses at that level are hard nuts and the adrenaline usually overrides far more significant injuries than that!
If it is that then she is one sensitive lady!
That's apparently the only explanation they can find after her stops. Nothing else seems to be wrong thank goodness. Maybe she's a sensitive soul. Who knows how sore she was/is.

Same here! Dull as!
I was sad Artist didn’t win, but agree his sj didn’t really deserve the win. Still love him though!
And really pleased to see Felix win, lovely to have a different nation take the win, Cartania looked a tricky ride to Sj and he was very tactful!
Caroline had 2 horses so hence they had to build a small break in. Even jumping out of order would have been a struggle with those numbers!

She has also come back from an injury.... so who knows if that's the whole story for the horse. It was very odd when she jumped into the water so well.

@LEC and I are over in Pau. It was pretty windy and wild today, they definitely made the right decision to postpone. All are through the trot up and crammed into 1 day of dressage tomorrow.
We filmed our Xc course walk today for anyone interested, and will do a bit of filming of the competition days

Well done for braving the weather. Thanks, very interesting. Whom are your favourites to win?

I think it’s quite open this year! Tom
McEwen is the favourite but I’m not convinced he’s fast enough. If Ballaghmor Class trots up sound on Sunday then he is hard to beat, but I could easily see someone like Emily King finally get their big result

My equiratings team has Oli and David Doel. Also Jesse, Kylie and Alex.
The French contingent is almost non existant. They have very little depth as so few horses at the level.
Sorry weather is pants. I had 5 days of sunshine there so was lucky!

Or Bratty Upton might pull it off 😞

Bubby into the lead on 25 point something

I speak French and the commentary is dire. Anyone got English commentary?
I really don't want to watch the Forestiere saddlery ad for the 'enth time!

Brilliant day of dressage today- seriously high quality throughout. Stand outs for me were Corimiro (another year of strength and he will be challenging for the lead), It’s Cooley Time (another super young horse), Jesse Campbell for the huge improvement and good old Ballaghmor Class for just looking amazing at 18.

We filmed the top few tests which will be in a short vlog tonight if anyone wants to see it
