I reeally need some info on the effect of water velocity on habitats in streams. I know that the faster the velocity the greater the concentration of oxygen but can't remember what else and having no luck on google. Any ideas?

If you can find one scientific paper on google scholar, use the references they have to find other related papers, if that makes sense. That is my lazy way of finding papers. Don't assignments just suck, i have a 10,000 dissertation to do and i have only got about 1500 words so far. A very long way to go.

It might be worth looking at info you can get from studies of insects in archaeological contexts for some ideas. A lot can be worked out concerning types of water and flow rate using insects in archaeological samples. Trent Valley is an area with lots of this type of work. Basically though certain species are very specific to particular conditions.
