Firstly, has anyone heard how Daisy is doing?
a woman called Debbie Atkinson was also seriously injured in America at the weekend but she may not be quite so lucky- damaged her spinal cord so is paralysed and not breathing independantly.... very scary stuff

oh i hate it. It so great when it goes well..... but hate the other side. Would definately prefer to die then be seriously irreparably injured. Hope they are both ok.

These accidents are frightening but there is danger in all things we do. A kid down here was killed knocked off their bike in a fairly safe area. It is a dangerous sport and we must not take stupid risks but if we worry constantly then it is not worth it.

that must be awful to be paralysed my thoughts are with her and her family.

Just shows how much of a rollarcoaster ride eventing and infact horses in general are.

Also would like to know how daisy is doing, hopefully on the mend.

fingers crossed for both of them

I recently worked with a 35 yr old who was knocked off his bicycle. His wife did CPR for 10 mins before ambulance arrived. He survived but is paralysed from nipples down.

Really made me stop and think about what I was doing riding, but he laughed at me and told me to get on with it!

I'm probably not the best source of info re. DB.. but maybe the only source on here! (bit second hand)
Latest i've heard is.. punctured lung, broken ribs, fractured skull, and something dodgy with one eye, as she landed face first!!

so i'm guessing her face doesn't look all that pretty at the mo..
On the plus side.. she is sitting up in bed.. so i'm guessing talking to people and doing well!!
I can't imagion the pain she must of been/be in tho
