Some of you may have seen a while back in Soapbox, our springer had a litter or 7 puppies. I thought I'd update you on how they're doing!

There was one who was very much the runt of the litter, and just wasn't picking up. He was half the size of the other puppies, and we were quite worried. When thy were weaned and he started eating puppy food, he caught up with his siblings, and overtook some!

The rest all thrived from day 1, and all of them were sold to fantastic homes 4 weeks before they were due to go. This was rather lovely- all homes were thoroughly vetted, several people came to see them and just weren't right and now we get regular updates from them all. We also had a buy back thing, so they are all sorted for if anything goes wrong!

Best of all, we got to keep the black and white girl. She was the spit of her grandmother who was much loved and is still sorely missed, and as she developed this cheeky swagger it was decided- she was going nowhere!

The poor dad being bullied by them... They treated him as an adventure playground, and he's too good natured to complain!

Frodo, the runt of the litter. He was a tremendous character- if there was trouble, he'd caused it! He had this thing for climbing and this was his favourite perch :)

And the gang now- mummy, daddy and Rosie :)

Yes, they are hogging the sofa. My sister took this from sitting on the floor...

I was being dim, sorry!

Poor Daisy having a quick break... She'd pile them up, the go for a quick wander and then have a few minutes on the other side of the box chatting to us :)

You can see how tiny Frodo was in comparison to the others.

Meet Rosie, trying her best to climb the barrier to get into the rest of the house... Dear girl! If they worked as a mob, they could get through... It was a reign of terror for the last week!

Long suffering daddy... He was too good natured not to let them use him as an adventure playground!

Frodo, being the legend he is!

And our 3 now... Oops!

Bert (the dad) is a very dark liver and white, with remarkably ginger ears, but because he is so dark he looks black in photos :)

Daisy is the most amazing dog going- she is tolerant beyond all belief of people fussing and cuddling her, but is also a cold-blooded hunter. She took out a dog fox (much bigger than her, seemed fairly healthy...) when it came trotting through our yard :O

We were very lucky with the people who wanted the pups, they were so lovely and came on lots of visits too make sure the puppy they'd chosen was right for them.

I was a bit nervous posting this, as they were an accidental breeding (Bertie was 9/10 months, Daisy came into season unexpectedly and he went sex-mad... A worrying insight into the mind of a teenage boy!). But they are lovely, and we did everything by the book and have bred before (we bred the mum, so the pup we kept is the third generation).

Lovely pups, glad it all worked out well despite the teenage dad :p watch out Jeremy Kyle :p

Talking about sex mad, met an old boy at the beach tonight, telling me about his lovely old collie dog, how 'he' was this and that and how he had had 'him' for seven years.
Said 'dog' was reversing it's back end into my ten month old dog's face, said young dog had drool in freefall from his gob and was incredibly excited :o while I tried to wrestle him in the opposite direction making small talk, methinks HE was a SHE!!!
If they have balls, they can use 'em!!!

absolutely loving the pic of the pup n the box surrounded by his destruction! :) lovely pups !! xx

He was a little monkey, and no matter how hard we tried he always looked very scruffy!

Thank you :) We were very pleased with how well they were, and how easily they were sold- we were so careful though, because Christmas is coming up and we didn't want them to be products of the 'cute puppy for a present' thing.

Absolutely gorgeous!

I'm not currently a spangle owner, but have been & am sure I will be again!

I think they're addictive... My dad did say when we got our first that we would only own one dog at a time. Only then she had a litter of puppies, and one was the spit of her so we had to keep her. Then we lost the original, and we mourned her for months and months and still miss her. So Daisy was an only dog again, and we weren't getting another. Only then we saw Bert advertised last year and though there was no harm in seeing him, you know. Fast forward a year and we're up to 3 spangles!

This is Poppy, the grandmother of the puppies. She would spend all day hamster watching if allowed...
