CHIEDIAMO DI PROTEGGERE I CAVALLI IN COLOMBIA

Sono molte le segnalazioni che riguardano abusi e maltrattamenti di cavalli in Colombia. Pochi giorni fa l’ultimo triste episodio avvenuto a Santiago de Cali: un cavallo di nome Pablo, al rifiuto di camminare e trainare il carretto è stato cosparso di benzina e dato alle fiamme dal proprietario.
I passanti alla vista del cavallo in fiamme hanno chiamato il numero per le emergenze: immediatamente sul posto è giunto il comandante della Polizia Ambientale e davanti ai suoi occhi si è presentata un’immagine di crudeltà estrema. Pablo è solo l’ultimo nella lunga lista degli abusi su animali utilizzati per il trasporto in Colombia. Come reso noto dal comandante della Polizia Ambientale, ogni anno sono circa 130 i cavalli che fanno la stessa fine nella sola Santiago de Cali.
Questa vicenda ha avuto immensa diffusione grazie al pronto intervento dei media e degli animalisti colombiani, ma molti altri cavalli soffrono e muoiono nel silenzio.
L’OIPA chiede alle autorità colombiane che sia vietato l’utilizzo di animali per trainare carretti e che siano resi obbligatori mezzi meccanici di traino, come è già avvenuto a Medellin, sempre in Colombia, dove attualmente vige il bando all’uso di animali.

I dont know if the pic is linked if not Im glad. It was heartbreaking. The jist of the story is..a carthorse for some reason stopped pulling his load so the driver/owner poured petrol over him and set him on fire. [****] hell, how low can man get
