So following on from the other thread who is liable for broken fencing in a part/full livery situation? I think it ought to be yard owner but they think it’s down to the liveries in their respective fields - if their horse damages a fence they must fix it .
Thoughts?

Legally I don't know but if my horse damaged a fence which was previously in good condition, then I would feel obliged to repair it.
Agreed / trouble is they’re not really in great condition and no electric so easy to damage

If it was broken before horse moved in then I'd expect YO to fix but if my horse did it then me.
A couple posts broken when I moved on so my YO replaced them. I've since seen some posts break through wear and tear and I've gotten posts from YO and done the repairs myself.
I've a good relationship with my YO. He was replacing a fence beside a stone wall and on discussion we agreed not to replace it as wall is substantial enough as a deterrent for horse not to field hop.
