more money, less time - what would you do?

I have been asked to work longer hours at work, at the moment I have an hour every day when I get to ride if I work longer, I won't have that time to ride, but I would have more money which would make life more comfortable - what would you do? Is time more important that money, I'm thinking I would rather be poorer but have more time for my horse!

Normally i would say - keep the dosh and give me the time - BUT i have a different attitude in the countries current econmoic climate - and I would give every support to my company atm, even if it disadvantaged me

Why do you only have an hour to ride? Could the extra money mean you could pay for part livery or livery at a yard with am indoor school? If so then longer hours could mean more time playing ponies!

I have my horse on part livery on a yard with floodlights so in the week all my horse time is grooming, and riding. :D

divorced, no family network daughter in bed by 7 in the evening :(:( but hey I have a horse :D:D:D that I get to rid in the afternoon!!!!

If it is short term and you don't think your horse would be unhappy i'd go for it with Christmas round the corner, but if it's long term I'm not sure I'd do it if I am honest!

I agree with this, if it's short term I'd personally go for it because it's handy before xmas time and it'll be colder so less tempting to go out and ride in it! But if it's a permanent thing then I'd probably turn it down and stick with playing ponies... I'm assuming you're working 5 days a week, if it's more then I'd probably stick to ponies because you wouldn't have weekend time with them!

If it's short term, take it and give the horse a wee holiday - more money before Christmas is always nice and I like to give mine a bit of a break in winter (not all of it, I'd go mad  Just don't stress if I'm only riding on weekends for a month or two!)

If it's permanent, I wouldnt - it's not worth it. For me, anyway.

My thoughts exactly :D

I worked a shift pattern earlier this year where I got loads more free time and now I'm back in the office on the normal 8-4:30 regime. I'm really missing the extra time to myself. For me the free time is worth more than the money and I'd go back in a flash.
