Have some more pictures of Neddy jumping :) he's getting so good!
I plan to do some grids and some "spooky" jumping soon :D (by spooky, I mean use all my bombproofing stuff :D)

Tried to do some cantering, but ended up pacing for a few strides! He got it in the end though :P

He looks fantastic! You should follow JFTD's lead on the bombproofing stuff, think she's used all sorts...(think rubber rings etc :D)
After your fun ride success, are you going to do some endurance with Ned? Random but he looks very 'endurance-y' in the last pic :D

Thanks! We have done some jump bombproofing, but I plan to make it super scary this time :D

Hopefully! There's another fun ride in june, so hoping to get out and do that one and when he can travel, go to some further away :D

I think you both look alot better, your more relaxed and you have clearly been working on your position and therefore ned is jumping better.

Good on you kiddo, really lovely to see your progress :)

Ha, hello, you thinking of our epic "Dave the dolphin" and rubber rings blowing about on the pole affair? That was nasty - but my lad doesn't look at any fillers or fence dressing now!

Nah, the first pic is much better - he needs to learn to use his neck, and he can (hopefully!) start to do that now your release looks more convincing and you're less on his shoulders on take off :)

Thanks guys :D that means a lot to me! JFTD - you're also the one who's inspired me to try grids :) hopefully now he's more relaxed, I won't get a repeat of last time I tried...gallop with all the poles on the floor, oops!

Awwwww! I remember you posting a few years back for jumping advice. He looks so good and so do you! He's really blossomed since I last saw your photos of him! :)

Grids are great for teaching them to use themselves properly - just keep them low and gradually increase their complexity. Someone in CR said the other week something along the lines of:

"A good grid can be near impossible to ride unless you get it right despite being tiny, or set the horse up so well for a big fence that it will leave you feeling like you could jump the moon"

i.e. that you can teach so much over tiny fences (bounces, very complex etc for horse and rider) or it can make it really simple so it sets them up perfectly for a final big fence. I like that idea.

Very true! I honestly don't know why I haven't done It sooner!
I'm sure I'll post about it :D
