OK folks. I did not ask if it was heating but thanks for replies on that one. Soya I find out, is rich in Lysine, an amino acid protien building block, so good for muslce development. Good for youngstock. Soya also helps calcium absorption and helps produce hormones, enzymes and antibodies. For horses not in hard work probably ordinarly corn oil is good enough but for muscle building and youngstock go for soya.
 
Do make sure you don't confuse straight soya with soya oil. There will be negligible amounts of protein in soya oil, although the soya that the oil is extracted from is a good source of protein.
 
So would you feed soya meal? This is a whole new situation. As the original question was the superiority or not of soya over veg oil.
