Still going very well ... Jake (for those of you who don't know is my young rescue spangle, very shy etc) well he is just AMAZING!! He's now managing to sit still during the drive and is aware of what happening around him. Returning to the recall every time when out (rather than turning temporarily deaf!!) and has the confidence and initiative to work miles away, searching and working the thickest of cover like a true pro. Last Saturday he bought 8 birds back to me consecutively, i have no idea where from as i couldnt see a thing!! thick woodland/boggy ground that only dogs dare venture into. I'm so pleased with him

Fab pictures! Sooooo proud of little Snakey Jake, what a star you've turned him into!
Otto gets those nicks too, when will they learn that hitting brambles at 100mph is not a clever thing to do!?
How is Jake's Tail holding up? Fingers crossed that Otto's seems to have toughened up after all that splitting and we've not had any problems since! Although I'm sure during the spring when all the new growth comes through and he is wet, it'll start splitting again!

Hen - Not last week the week before the end of his tail, the white flag was RED! Didn't bleed for long and ddn't bother him in the slightest - what did bother him was me calling him back to check it! I got the 'mum i'm trying to work hard for you here and you've interrupted me' look!!

I have to be honest, i was getting to the point with Jame i thought he was wasn't cut out for the working life but i gave him the benefit of the doubt and i'm so glad i did! Something in his scatty spangle brain has suddenly twigged ... no stopping him now! GO JAKE GO JAKE ....

Thank you spaniel - Ellie is such a dream dog, she's 8 now nearly 9 .. i want the time to start reversing now, although having said that i think *fingers crossed* she will age well

That's what Otto's was like, except it really bothered him

He looked like he'd ripped his sides open too, because he'd wagged the blood all over him!

Nothing else will stop him working, but if his tail is split he will keep stopping to chew it! Hopefully it has toughened up enough now to stop splitting!

I'm really paranoid about it, i'm always checking him! His tail hits his sides too, they are just happy twins!!
