Hi Lucy, I wouldn't worry at all. My horses are in Bedfordshire and they are out all the time, no matter what the weather. They have the choice to use their shelter and they aren't doing that at the mo so can't be that cold.

Your pony will be fine and nice and snug in his rugs.

Im in Essex and felt really smug today hearing about all the snow everywhere but its was bright and sunny where i was but i just saw the weather report and its gonna snow the rest of the week and go down to -6 !!!!! that is seriously cold - poor neddys gonna end up stuck in their stables yet again!

If it really snows heavily here and stays icy underneath then my mum and I would consider putting our horses in just over night so that we can be sure they don't hurt themselves. We haven't done this in years and they hate to be in but as the ground is so rutted in parts of our field, it would just make us feel better about it if the weather really becomes that awful. However, they are definitely out for tonight and I stand by what I said about your pony Lucy.

I wouldn't bother at all putting them in if the ground was flatter in our paddock.

You can just pop up there tomorrow and see him, I'm sure he will like to play in the snow a bit! Then you can put him in tomorrow night if the weather is really bad.

it snowed here (3" overnight) & more due tonight, which is typical as i was just about able to see the hint of ground through the snow & my water trough had finally got to a thickness of ice that diddnt require a sledgehammer to break the ice.
GRRRRR not that the boys care they are out in all weather.
