I very much doubt that the government will sell off too much of our forests for the simple fact that although it will bring in a bit of cash ultimately in the long run will cost a fortune in lost taxes, revenue and grants.

That cost will soon hit hard so there is no point at all in selling them off. I suspect it was just an idea to try and get us out of the poop.

Everyone who is so concerned about who physically OWNS the forests... why haven't you been kicking up a stink over how they are managed? Or is it all ok as long as you can you wander through them as you wish...stuff any of other value.

The latest from H&H on this issue,
http://www.horseandhound.co.uk/news/article.php?aid=306522

It appears that there has been a select few hand picked to decide the future of of all our forests whoever by and however they are managed. Potential users are VERY poorly represented on the panel.

Please if you care about off road riding in the UK share your thoughts with Caroline Spelman the Environment Secretary saying that Equestrianism and other user groups need to be properly represented on the Independent Forestry Panel. Lets fill up her in box ladies and gents!
