Ive always fed high fibre and low starch as I have to be careful with my very sensitive mare. Even feeds like Fast fibre and speedibeet, Pink Mash made her like she was on drugs! Certain supplements have made her loopy so I try to be very careful and tbh her feed has always been a token gesture. She loves her high Fibre cubes but after watching the Saracens/Vet link kindly posted on my last post, the vet suggested that a mix was better than a cube. Obviously Saracen feeds were mentioned ie Releve and Shape up but my vet also recommended Releve and gave me a sample.
At the mo she will not eat any type of chaff, Ive tried a few, so maybe its something to do with the ulcers, so Ive been soaking the high fibre cubes as she loves them and to get the Sufralcate in her.
My question is has Releve sent your horses loopy as it says its medium energy and how come its recommended when it has mollasses and soya in it? Or any other palatable ulcer friendly non heating feeds please?
