Has anyone done this ODE at 70cms? I've had my girl 18 months and want to do one this year and there is one coming up next weekend which I've been told is an ideal first one to to together (I used to do mainly 80's on my previous mare and have done the 80 here).

My horse is more than capable it's just me! Dressage and showjumping i'm not worried about! We've done plenty of arena XC and she flies but I guess I'm worrying about the fact she's only ever been xc schooling once! And pretty much flew everything there too - she's just not a fan of ditches!

There's nothing to stop you from walking round the course, especially if you're happy to wait at the side and let someone overtake you if needed, or you can ask to go last on the running list. I have had this at every event I have fence judged at.
You'll be fine!

This is very true! I've heard it's mainly logs which is ideal for the first one and like you say I could jusy take my time round it! I also worry she may not be fit enough as ground been too rubbish to do lots of canter work but we do a fair amount of trotting and hillwork out hacking

I was at an unaffiliated last weekend and plenty of people just popping a few for the good experience then going home :) You can always even skip every fence and just have a canter around the country side if dont feel up to it! Enjoy yourself :)

This sounds a good plan! She would probably fly round a 90 to be fair but I haven't' been round a full XC course in about 5 years since before having my daughter so it's more just me being a pansy!!

You’ll be fine, it’s a nice, little inviting course, just trotting through the water, small log to start, very relaxing, if any xc course can be described as relaxing!
