I'm dithering over whether to buy these, I can't find many reviews, has anybody got a pair and would be kind enough to share their thoughts on quality/fit etc? What I REALLY want is a pair of Ariat or mountain horse short boots but I can't justify the spend!

I've got them, very comfy & good fit. Coming into their 2nd winter and still looking good even though I'm not the best at looking after boots! For the price I would happily buy again if they don't last me this winter.

Seriously just stick with ariats for your winter waterproofs. Don't say I didn't tell you.

FWIW I splurged (160e!) on Ariat yard boots, the Telluride H2Os, and they ended up dying a death at about 6 months old. However, the conditions I work in are particularly tough on boots, I don't take amazing care of them, and I typically cover 15km or so a s. I will say they were comfortable out the gate, and after swapping back to mid range hiking boots with a gel insole my back is much more sore at the end of the day! The heels and sides of the toe box went for me at roughly the same time.

I bought bareback waterproof short boots in May. Didn’t last 6 months of mostly summer and I have one horse on part livery. Stitching gone in 2 places and leaking. Not great value for £149!

I’ve similar with Ariat.

Thanks for the replies, I've just found a good deal on a pair of Mountain Horse Snowy river boots so have gone with those instead ? not as expensive as ariat but my MH short boots I had a few years ago refused to die so hopefully they're still good quality!

What size are you? I’ve just bought a pair of Ariats from Wychanger for £72.50 as they‘re ex samples. They only have them in size 4.5 though but they come up quite big.

I (probably) bought the same Bareback ones at the start of last winter. To be fair to them I wore them all day most days and they only started to fall apart over the summer, but given it's the most expensive footwear I have ever bought for myself, I was disappointed :( I wanted to get a couple of years out of them. I very nearly just bought a nice looking pair of Karrimors but the reviews indicate that they are not waterproof :(

For short boots for working (definitely not riding) I recommend Bates 5 1/2” tactical boots together with a waterproofing spray.

I wear these everyday around buses and when working on yards an teaching, and they last me a year at a time before I wear them down too much to be comfortable.

Warm, supportive, fairly waterproof to start with and completely once sprayed.

Quality has stayed the same over the 8 or so years I have used them.

Sorry, only just saw this! Collonil Carbon Pro is the spray I use. Need to proof after every clean, but I don’t clean that often.
Thanks, ive ordered some. If you don’t clean and wear in winter, how often do you typically need to spray? Weekly? Monthly? Thanks
