Samantha was telling us before the show that she's been visiting a nice gentleman racehorse owner in his stables recently. She doesn't know much about racing, but she's already seen something to admire in his jockeys.
All of which leads me to believe that I HAVE missed out on life not listening to Radio 4 (except for the Today programme) since I left home 20 years ago
Samantha tells me she has to nip out now, as she's been invited to an exclusive club to meet a group of aristocrats. She's very excited to see where all the big knobs hang out. I was a little shocked at first because I didn't quite believe what I was hearing, and yes, old Humph was definitely pushing the boundaries with his increasing 'seniority'. He made Julian Clary sound like Milly-Molly-Mandy and was far wittier.
I'll miss him and ISIHAC will be I'm Sorry It Hasn't A Chance without him. Just like John Peel's 'Home Truths'.
