Moronic New Forest tourists getting kicked by pony!!

oh my god! calm down everyone! people seem to get so high and mighty on here, yes its was stupid, yes it was a mistake, and yes they have learnt from it! now lets get off our high horses (no pun intended ;) ) and admit (truthfully!) that we have all done stupid things in our lives too!

I personally wouldn't have just posted your account on here! I have just watched a video of you riding down the road, no hat, no saddle, just a head collar and a rug, and you say you are experienced?!?

You never done that Bexcy-Bee? Just jump on bare back??

So much fun :D

If your hat gives you migraines then I'd suggest possibly it isn't the right hat for you, and I'd look at getting one fitted rather than not wearing one, especially if breaking in a 5 year old :)

okay seeing as some of you want to critizse me, then i guess this is a good opurtunity for me to show you this vid...

Sorry but at 14 you are still definately a child. Adults are not overly impressed at you being in 'year 10'. I finished Uni more years ago that you have lived, & I'm still the nice side of 40.

What you did was unthoughtful, unsafe & with no appreciation of the animals that you were around. I grew up on the new forest, & in all the years I lived there I never fed a pony or tried to touch one. If you are as 'experienced' as you say, then you & your friend should have read the horses body language no matter how close you were. In fact that you didn't shows just how inexperienced you are. That you are 'backing' a pony again is not going to impress people, more they will worry about the pony given how you both behaved in this situation.

It isn't clever to touch a 'wild' pony, who do you think you are, Monty Roberts for heavens sake? Even somone with his experience spends time working with them before he ever gets to the point of touching them. That you don't like the comments, well you've done something stupid which could have ended in serious injury to yourself or your friend, what did you expect people to say about it?

This behaviour from someone with 'equestrian experience' is a childish ego trip, grow up before you get hurt.

Do you need a step ladder to get on and off your high horse?
For gods sake, the girl's 14. I did far far 'worse' things than this with all manner of ponies, cats, dogs when I was that age, because with guidance and advice, that's how you learn. Moralising and preaching just makes people switch off. You should listen to yourself.

Well done Amber, I think you've handled this situation with maturity & dignity :)
