Just back from a mini-yomp (big yomps cancelled due to weather conditions

) and I was halfway up the hill behind our house that leads to the main forest track when Bella put her ears up and ran to the top, then stood and looked at something behind the tree line that I couldn't see.

Panic! (All GSD owners will know that ears-forward thing

)

I recall B in the meantime and put his lead on (we never normally meet anyone on this trail, ever!) and she was still stood stock still.
Called her in a silly voice twice, which she ignored, and then shot off behind the tree line, tail in the air.

MASSIVE PANIC!

So I pegged it up to the top of the hill to see the mighty midget helpfully rounding up a group of eight ramblers

Who were all very lovely and didn't mind a bit as I chased her in and out of their group and didn't laugh as I ran away in the opposite direction singing 'Bellabellabellabella!" as I tried to keep hold of B, who by this time was singing himself, (he doesn't like it when people walk away from him

)

In the end I had to yell 'will one of you grab her, please, you've got yourself a new dog!' and once they started that, she realise what side her bread was buttered on and came back.
To which I had to praise her through gritted teeth and shout lots of sorries, thank-yous and Happy New Years to the lovely rambly people who did not seem to mind being molested by a little GSD.

The next time I post about recall and dogs on leads, remind me of this

You are not alone - The Moo blotted his copy book yesterday too

. The sheep have been moved back into the field which gives us access to the rest of the farm. On the way out was a very good boy, came everytime I called him etc etc Sweep is terrified of sheep so sticks to me like glue anyway. On the way back the little fecker wriggled under the gate and was off playing 'it' with the sheep - did come back on about the 3 or 4th yell and then walked back with me like butter wouldn't melt

Ah well SU, glad we're not the only ones suffering halo slippage!

Gazehound, that was the best bit, thankfully, as I am sure most people wouldn't be too happy with an Allasayshun charging up to them, at least she is tiny and cutesy

I'm sorry CC but have to laugh. I so know that ears pricked look
ooo.gif
Evie always jumps up and down and squeaks when we meet other walkers, and is most offended when they don't stop and talk to her, and in fact most times back off looking horrified .At least they were dog friendly ramblers.

Lol, Molly does that frequently now and I find myself saying she doesn't normally do this but thinking - swine this is a common occurence now!

Henry was in trouble today too, there must be something in the water! He vanished in the woods for ages, I was getting into a proper puther
blush.gif
He turned up after about 10 mins, the little nobber
mad.gif
He was like a Duracell bunny today, can't understand why was we walked 6 miles yesterday - the only thing I can think of is that the family came with me and he was excited to be out with all his peeps
confused.gif

Oh, and he then tried to climb into my lap in the car - while I was driving...

Eeeeep!

And to top it off, we took the dummy out, he brought it back beautifully, then when I put it down on the floor to reward him, he ate his sweetie then ran off with the dummy, and brought it back again to get another sweetie
grin.gif
He is far too clever for his own good sometimes

That's cheered me up no end! I was feeling miserable and reading your post and Hopping Robin's reply have had me giggling.

Dogs/horses/kids....they are all great levellers!

That made me chuckle yiou are so right about THAT look that GSD's get.

A couple of weeks Talullah was so naughty, we had spent time with my niece and Tally is child friendly and she loves children.

I had taken her for a walk along the downs and then vroom she goes and totally and utterly ignores me ane went selective deaf and off she goes straight up a toddler in a push chair and drops her dirty disgusting slobbery ball into the childs lap and then bloody kisses(licks) the toddler - to say I wanted to kill her was an understatement.

Thankfully the parents were absolutley fine but I was furious, can you imagine if they had been annoyed which they quite rightly could have been. I think she did it as she had she had just spent time with my SIL's children.
