this isnt related to my other post i just posted!

I was wondering if anyone knew much about Moss Cottage Stud - Squires Sports Horses in Lancashire. Was thinking of arranging to look around but wanted to know if anyone knew anything re their stallions first?

The stallions they have standing are :
Squires Brigade,
Squires Diamond
Squires Eclipse and
Squires Just Ozz

I've heard something on the grapevine that i would like to know if anyone else has before i go and look, hence posting on here - not sure if its true and its not something i can ask the stud, i was told via another stud hence - may just be trying to stop me from going there or something??

Not heard anything about that stud and I'm in lancs, dont like ace of spades but is personal pref. Think I mentioned before about Karens other stallions at Moor Edge stud, Eleksir died quite a while ago but she rides a very promising young jumping stallion of HorseGroupies. You could also try Holden Fold stud - they're very nice people too, they have some nice stallions, jumping and dressage but you need 650 as a budget..... but they do give concessions to some mares.

Hi,
i've been really busy and not updated my little site! i discounted my friends freisan, and think i have finally decided on Temple Calypso over at Flight View.
for my other mare - a freind is bringing one of her stallions over today to be turned out with her

Just think carefully about your motives for breeding - do your mares really excel and what if the worst in either of them comes out in the foal? Do we really need two more to add to the thousands of average youngsters already out there

? Are you planning to keep them or move them on? Nice idea to have a foal - but only if you know there is a definite market for the outstanding foals you are guaranteed to produce. Sorry, but I am totally against breeding for the sake of it. Enjoy your mares as mares and leave them foal free.

its not a sudden decision, i thought about it last year as i couldnt decide on stallions etc - i am not just going to breed for breedings sake!
i dont have to justify my reasons for breeding but i am breeding for myself, despite having 7 horses, most are over 22 now and hence retired or semi - so when foal is old enough for riding, it will be my main riding horse. even thou i dont really want to compete etc - i still want the best i can and am not just going to settle for anything - if i was i would have snapped up the offer i had for a coloured unregistered cob for 150! i didnt even ask any questions about it just said, no thanks.
i'm hormonal at the moment but sick of having to justify my decisions to people! i'm doing the right thing by asking advice re certain stallion, lines, studs etc to help me make the right choice.
