Most Expensive Full Livery In The Country?!?

I dont get the 'long month thing'

Surely there are 30 days in most months and 31 in the rest (except for feb of course) so where is it longer??? One days difference is all.

I work one day a week in nursing homes and therefore if i am there on the first day of the month I will fit 5 visits in....... but horses are there everyday regardless..... so how is it hiked up so much for one extra day.

Please someone let me know this as it doesnt sound right!!!

Suggest you come down to North London where all inclusive full livery is £160.00 per week including hacking over 250 acres, use of 3 menages and an indoor arena, changing rooms with showers, horse walker, tack cleaned, horses excercised, individual turn out paddocks etc. tv surveylance, 24/7 supervision.

OK, most expensive in Scotland surely!?

Just to be clear, this £407 for full livery does not include rug changing, hard feed, grooming, picking out hooves, or riding. It only includes turn out, bring in, give provided feeds, put hay on floor of stable, minimal bedding and mucking out of minimal bedding. Thats it. And my horse will only actually be there half of this month. There is no indoor school or hot water (though I knew that when I moved there). If I wanted rug changing it would have cost me £470 this month. And this is rural Aberdeenshire, in the north east of Scotland, not London or the Home Counties!

Yes, I think you are right about the 4 and 5 week months, but I just have a feeling that whatever happens, I will end up paying more for less and less. New yard is £315 for full livery excluding hard feed but including rug changing, which seems more the norm up here.

These prices are not expensive for Full Livery - at least by southern standards - but what you are getting is quite clearly NOT Full Livery!

Full should mean full - i.e. including everything the horse needs! What you are getting is barely even Part Livery, more like Assisted-DIY!

That does seem very expensive for Scotland. We're in the Central belt and charge £72/week for full livery and this includes hard feed, ad lib soaked hay, shavings (our stables are spotless), feet picked, rugs changed (to whatever's appropriate for the weather), farrier organised, routine grooming and turnout all year round.

I'd def look around for somewhere else where the YO cares about the yard and clients - in other words where they've realised they'll never make any real money at it and that it is a labour of love!

I know of places charging close to £200 a week but that's the joyous SE/London prices

Not just livery prices that are more expensive, look at lesson prices too

I paid £650 a month for full livery for a few months last year......!

It sounds more like part livery tbh.

I pay 240 per month for full livery down south and the YO is great. She'll make farrier/dentist/back appointments for my boy and be present at all of them. She'll buy food in for him and put it in his bins and just bill be monthly for it. She even exercised my horse for me when I was ill for no payment. I'll be gutted to leave

HH, if there are a few of us looking for a decent livery yard what about renting a small yard to ourselves?

We were told our bill for full livery would be MAX 500. The first bill was over a grand!!!!!!!!!!

bargain! £650 included exercise and tack cleaning - tend to think of part livery as everything but that

Id love to know which yard this is??!! (PM me if you want to tell!). Sounds shocking for the area (Im in Aberdeenshire). VERY expensive IMO. Does it list EXACTLY what these costs are on your bill?
