I took Bear (b/w, middle picture) to the Herts County Show today for the experience. He can be a bit scared in new situations but was excellent today. :)

So while we were there, I clocked a pack of sibes, about six, who all leapt up to say hello! :eek:

Then I spied 2 Viszlas, one smooth wire and one wire (I think!) and possibly lots ore wires, kept seeing dogs and couldn't work out whether they were one thing or another. They were various colours, black, some the same colour as Viszla's pups.

I saw border collies, springers galore, GSDs, staffies, flatties, retrievers, pointers, labs. I also spied two Eurasiers although one didn't look like the other which looked like a breed standard dog. A friend brought her dog who is a beagle/spaniel cross, the exact shape of a beagle with Bear-like markings, very odd. Bear was very attracted to him. :o :p

Round my area, it's wall to wall staffies and tons of springers, some sibes and quite a few beagles.

What breed do you see most?
 
around here we have a fair few staffies.
also retrievers, springers and GSD's :)

in our small horse community up at the lane there are alot of terriers, we have a JRT at our yard, one lady has a doberman at the opposite yard and one yard has a very fluffy white thing (sparkling white too!) and i have no idea what breed it is!
 
There are 2 Staffies in my village both rescue and well behaved, 1 Springer,1Cocker,4 Ridgebacks, lots of Black Labs ,2 JRs, several Collies, 1 Yorkie and 1 Dachshund,1 GSD and several mongrels.

In the local Bristol paper dogs for sale Staffs with Huskies are the most popular.
 
I live just at the bottom of Goodwood. And there are three shoots in probably walking distance.

We all have labs, springers, cockers round here ;0 Oh and border terriers seem popular...

Also a lot of collies and quite a few work sheep as well.

Considering they are a rare breed there are 4 otterhounds that I know of here as well.
 
Mainly staffs, a few labs and golden retrievers, jrts, lots of spaniels, one huuuuge spotty great dane, lots of terriers and 2 other greyhounds :)
 
Labradors, labradors more labs. Spaniels and lots of things ending in oodle or poo! And of course an awesome mini schnauzer.:)
 
around here everyone has a border collie! My 4, 2 parsons, lurcher, vizsla then there are a few more parsons about, several jrts, an EBT, golden retriever, yellow lab, show cocker, couple of springer spaniels, couple of lurchers, some weird terriery things....lots of, not entirely sure what they are, cairns or something maybe, 2 airdales, 2 weims, a pointer, 5 or 6 black labs maybe more, a norfolk terrier and then add to that about a million more border collies...oh and an irish setter.
 
There are 2 other GSD breeders round here, plus a few pet GSDs so they are probably the highest number, then labs and collies. Also someone who breeds border terriers but not sure if they count cos you never see them out :(. In the nearest town you see a lot of staffies.
 
A fair few rescue Staffies, lots of Westies (BYB around here was churning them out a few years back) a fair few collies, labs, spangles and JRTs. Being Essex there's also a lot of dressed up Chis :D

The replacement 'hard' dog around here seems to Huskies and Sibes, lots of them about 12 - 18 months old with young lads.
 
I see more springer spaniels then any other breed outright.
A couple of labs or lab x and a few cockers.
2 or 3 west highland whites, the odd JRT, the odd terrier x.

Have yet to meet another whippet, although there is 2 deerhound lurcher types.
Don't think I've seen a staffie yet either - which is surprising!
 
Where I live we see lots of bulldogs, and dalmations, viszlas, and cockers - I think there are a few of these breeders in the area. Labs and terriers are everywhere here as well.

Everyone always asks what ours are - samoyeds and malamutes, and obviously we train with sibes, so see loads of them :D
 
Round here it's labs, border terriers, spaniels (springers, cockers and KCC) and border collies. Quite a few mixed breeds too including Storm and most of her siblings as they were all homed locally :D
 
GSD's a go go round me. All quite different looking dogs too, big ones, smaller ones, slopey backs and not so. There is one that is dog aggressive and the female owner is all on to hold it. She grabs a gate or lamp post to anchor herself whilst the dog does its best to get to the other dog.
We also have a plethora of labs and a couple of weims.

Did you see the 2 huge St Bernards at Herts!!!! Also spotted quite a few Great Danes there too.
Spaniels, Labs and JRTs round here :).

Yes! I didn't realise they were so blinking ginormous! I avoided, in case Bear tried to hump one! :eek:

I was a little annoyed at the basset hound crew. Bear went to look at them and the whole pack started barking their heads off at him (he was silent and shot back several feet in fear). The woman there told me off saying there were children in with the bassets, yet there were other dogs whose owners let them press up against the enclosure.

Did you see the 'Cossack' riding? My mate, one of the show's equine vets, rode with some of them in Snow White and the Huntsman. He said they made him feel inadequate! Bless!

Haha - the St Bs looked so laid back I'm not sure they would have responded.

My daughter loved the Basset hounds - beautiful soulful eyes. You are right though, lots of people had their dogs right up near the pen and there was a fair bit of baying going on.

The Cossacks always pull the crowd and I am not ashamed to admit that I would never dare attempt what they do - amazing. One thing that does surprise me though (and this is just an observation, not a slur on their talent) is that their turnout is never that good i.e their tack, clothing and horses never look really clean and 'showy'. I have seen them a few times and each time I have thought the same. A little more polish and attention to detail would, I think, make the world of difference to showcasing themselves at performances where there are turnout and showing classs going on.
