My 17hh would take my leg better if he was skinny as a rake, but I wouldn't do it because I care for his health! Is the owner actually allowing her horse to get fat on purpose then? I'd report it for cruelty!
 
I just made a comment about why is he still getting a rather large hard feed, he's a chunky boy and the response i got was, i like him to hold a bit more weight as he takes me leg better....

A BIT MORE??!! i'd be getting a little concerned being that weight in winter, let alone keeping him that way in summer and out at grass 24/7 with a evening feed thats pretty huge and ridden 2 or 3 times a week top....
