driving into a village near me I saw a man trying to pull what I thought was a large dog into the back of a car (normal car, seats weren't even down in the back) then as I got closer I realised it was a shetland pony! he then just scooped it up in his arms and plonked it in the back of the car :O Me and my mum were just gobsmacked

someone my sister knows thinks she is the best rider going.

she went out on a hack, galloped flat out across the stubble and came off-she had no hat on. landed on her head and suspected she may have damaged her back again (she's always coming off and pulling horses down on her, especially when jumping due to her riding style).
luckily for her it was just bruising or something. The next day or so she went out hacking again-without a hat!

I got used to seeing this when I lived in Cyprus, often used to be hacking out on my horse and come across local guy who owned a Stallion, never rode it just used to take it out on a lead rope whilst he drove his truck, very disconcerting to see them coming towards you especially at a full gallop! Luckily my horse was a saint and just used to stand to the side as they rocketed past.

^^ haha!!! what a sight that must be :D:D:D

Think silliest thing I have heard and seen is a woman came to are yard one day and she seemed very in horsey, next weekend she returned and we had been told we had a new horse coming to join us, turns out her mother in law "breeds" (I say "breeds" it turned out her mother had a colt she didn't ween from the mare she left the mare to do it on her own, and yes u guessed it, mum fell pregnant to her son!! And she let the pregnancy go ahead) so any way the foal was born and the mother in law gave it to the lady who came to the yard! The horse transport guy round here brought the young colt (another!) to the yard for her , he was unloaded an handed to her and she just stood in are yard asking what do I do now!! I was shocked and horrified to find out this woman was at lest 30 had never ridden a horse or even handled one and her mother in law was happy to give her a inbred colt of about 6 month old!! Need less to say it's been interesting he runs wild and she didn't want to geld him as it was "cruel", she changed her mind after he tried to mount her 15 year old daughter!!! What's even sadder for me is we all offer her help but she says she can do it on her own, when really she does need help :(

Ive seen a girl of 8 and a half months pregnant on horse back!!!! Needed 3 ppl to get her on! So dangerous!!!

I rode when I was 9 months pregnant, Im not sure it was any more dangerous than normal? Then again I didn't require any outside assistance to embark/disembark. :)

Funniest thing was just a couple of days ago, someone visiting the yard on work experience (ish) was asked to rug up a horse, she dutifully pulled the rug over his head so the fillet string was round his chest, and neatly buckled the chest straps round his ample bottom. When queried as to the thinking behind it, she replied 'I thought the fluffy bit was to protect the top of his tail'. I didn't see it but the person who did was all weak and feeble from laughing so much. :)

A lady at a friend's yard uses NEAT bleach to whiten her horse's socks :O

Worst of all she's a skin care specialist, surely she should know better?

The stupidest thing I've DONE is get off, put the reins over the horses head, while we had a break, then get back on and wonder "Monty, why are you not going the way I want!?" Turns out...the reins had twisted and therefore I had backwards steering! Luckily it was a nice sedate ride, but gosh XD I was so embarrassed!

I've seen too many stupid things to name!

A boy in my Pony club jumped a 90cm XC like this! :O You would of thought his parents would of noticed?!?!

So many but off the top of my head, several years ago a girl on the yard gelding went to pee on the concrete whilst he was tied up outside the stable, she pushed the wheel barrow under him to catch it and yes the horse ended up breaking off and flying round the yard with a wheelbarrow wrapped around his legs... why she just didn't let him pee in peace, i'll never know... it would have drained off the yard into the drain by itself or she could have swept it towards the drain when he'd finished or washed some water after it!

Yesterday i was driving back to the office from town at lunchtime along a main road. I saw a young horse (it still had a foal tail) walking along the footpath loose. It had no headcollar on and the owner was walking behind it with a carrot stick....an accident waiting to happen.
The poor young horse had a solid main and tail full of brambles....poor thing

Not horsey but I couldn't resist....Once spotted an elderly man making his way down the inside lane of the M25 on his mobility scooter!!! Police rescued him. Apparently he'd taken a wrong turn at a roundabout.
