This is a bit self indulgent but my OH did something very very lovely for me today :)

I've had my boy officially for a year (bought him 1st May) and as a celebration, my OH surprised me with this...

It's so so thoughtful and such a lovely way to capture Harry's first year with me and a nice spin on a photo album :) We work together and had to hold back the tears when he gave it to me so I didn't look like an idiot lol!

Just need to make sure that anyone who touches the book has clean hands haha!

So, what other great gifts have you received from your OH/friend/horsey?? :)

although that really is lovely. My horse I had to pick etc but to do that without input is muchly impressive. I think I'd probably cry if I got that as a total suprise.

Now that is one thoughtful OH! What a lovely present - I really enjoyed reading that, thankyou :)

Harry is a stunner and very photogenic. Love the pic of your OH snuggling him :D

That is so lovely, I had tears in my eyes!!! What a gorgeous gift!!!

My OH didn't set out to give a gift, he was just putting some pics on dvd, and using movie maker for the first time. After a few hours playing on the pc (during which time I had a lovely time dozing and watching tv!!) he presented me with a disc that had a pic of all four of mine lazered on the front. When I played it, there was a whole load of pics throughout the las couple of years, a chronicle of our time with them, all to music.

He might have just been playing about, but it was truly the best thing ever!!! And I cried!!!! (and still do, whenever I have it on!!!!)

Jesstickle - Hehe I did, I was really fighting back the tears! It was just so unexpected and just so creative of him. I'm really lucky to have him, he got harry's leather head collar engraved for me at the weekend for a surprise as well! Bless him, and he is so good with helping out with him, though I know that's because he has a big soft spot for Harry now too :)

Awww that is so lovely! That's how my gift came about. He was going through the photos and just started writing a story.

How lovely to laser etch the cd too, a perfect thing to display when you're not watching it :)

Isn't it nice to hear how good peoples OHs can be. All I ever hear at my yard is how awful they are for wanting to play xbox instead of muck out (to which i mostly think, fair enough, so would I). It sort of makes me feel bad so all I say is 'mines not that bad' but actually he's pretty blooming brilliant.

I'm glad I'm not alone! Nice to be able to sing his praises. I'll tell him there are others out there that actually quite like the horses too. It'll make him feel better and more manly :)

Wow... I am super impressed with your OH, what a lovely idea of a gift and how caring of him to put that little book together. Yeah, I would cry too if my OH did that for me.

I think you are super duper lucky that present is just so thoughtful and your ned is seriously cute.

xxx

What a wonderful gift, he has obviously put so much time and effort into it, it's so good.

My OH bought me my little ponio despite being absolutely terrified of horses himself and helped me fulfill my childhood dream.

Orrr that is such lovely thing to receive, if only more men possessed the same brain power (in the pressent buying area) as your OH! bless him.

That is so sweet of your OH.
I didn't even get a present from my OH for my bday so I don't think I will hold out much hope of getting anything from him for my 1 yr owniversary of my boy next month.

oh thats so lovely. If i wasn't at work and supposed to be working I'd be crying!! Harry is a lovely lovely boy. you should be really proud of him.

my OH took me to Iceland to propose 3 years ago. He also left his job in london to move to yorkshire, and learnt to ride to spend more time with me. thats present enough for me. :)

Aww it is so nice to hear about other people's OH, they all sound lovely too! We can go home and tell them they're not alone and we really appreciate them :)

Jenhunt - my OH is learning to ride too :) Yours sounds like he must adore you to do all that, very sweet indeed

Also, thanks for all the lovely comments about Harry. It's be a long year (though looking back it's gone so quickly!) but he's come on so much. I used to make sure all the gates were closed before doing anything with him in case he tanked off and now he's so good, can be lead by everyone including the young girls at my yard, will stand for hours whilst I wash/groom/fuss over him and now comes to my call. I just really hope we keep going from strength to strength.

I had a birthday cake with pictures of my horses and dogs printed onto the icing and a framed pic of me riding my horse that was nice!

wow that so cool, i wish my hubby was that thoughtful x i want one too!!

(away to make hubby and nice cuppa and show him- i wonder if he will take the hint) x

What a super gift. Your OH is a treasure! Mine is too - no special gift as such, but he is so good at helping me look after my girlies. Poo picks my field most days - now that has to be special!

Your OH sounds wonderful- don't suppose you fancy swapping with mine? no?
Mine has brought me flowers twice in over 20 years- and the first lot was in a can!!!
Although he works in the farming/animal industry, he hates our daughter and me having horses, so does his utmost to avoid them and anything related to them at all times. You are SO lucky.Treasure your man!
Best present? Probaly a peridot and gold bracelet, so he's not all bad!

You know...ask anyone that knows me, I'm generally 'ard as nails me :p but that made me well up a bit, what a lovely thoughtful present. :D

That is so sweet! What a lovely thoughtful (and quite talented) chap your OH is. Mine gives me new shiney shoes for my horses every 5-7 weeks and bought me a shed for Valentine's day and a new floor for my trailer (which he picked up for me from Swansea) so although they're not as romantic I suppose they'll do... ;)

Thanks peeps, he really is a star :) And thanks for the lovely comments about Harry!

Spottyappy - you can never go wrong with a nice bit of jewellery :D

Farrierlover - oooo having a farrier for an OH must be quite useful hehe, and I think useful presents are very very worth while. My OH made me a haybox for a valentine's gift, so not massively romantic either but exactly what I wanted :)

alfiesmum - did he get the hint?? hehe

And thumbs up to all OHs who help out, sometimes it really is the little things that make the difference and we all know that a little helping hand, in any way, really does make our day (even if they do it wrong, bless 'em) :D

Oh yeah, and he's a qualified instructor too and so I get free lessons. All I need now is a nice menage, farm, Oakley supreme, 1000 acres........

Funnily enough, its friday night, nearly 9pm, and my OH has just gone out to collect a bath someone was getting rid of, and taken it to the yard about 20 mins away, so that I have more room to soak my hay next winter to make my life easier. Left me relaxing in the bath to do this, and he has to go to work tomorrow.

Bless him, I love him so much, and he even had a ride today, for an hour, with me walking alongside. He doesn't ride, horses are scary, but he is getting so much better. Told me today after he led Mare in and brushed her a bit, that he waas doing it so we can spend more time together.

I'm welling up again........ :o:D And want to say a public thank you to him right here, in front of everybody!!!!!!!
