What are the books you rate? non fiction or fiction.... I have the book by Alison Pocklington, and thought it was really good. Any hunting ones too?

Thanks for any reccomendations.

For an allround equine handbook, get The Pony Club Manual of Horsemanship, brilliant diagrams and explanations in it. Also Showing Secrets by Carolyn Henderson is a book I highly rate for turning out to perfection. For schooling, get 101 Schooling Exercises for Horse & Rider, you can also get 101 Dressage Exercises & 101 Jumping exercises.

Oh, for hunting books, I'd recommend Horse Tales and Hunt Talk by Noel Mullins, he writes hunting reports for the Irish Field. The day after the official release of the book he followed our hunt and was taking photos for the Irish Field.

101 ways to improve your riding. My instructor commented that my riding had improved (there was plenty of room for improvement LOL) after studying this book and taking some of it on board.

Interesting...is it very complicated? I would deffo like to learn more about dressage etc...but if it gets too complicated I have to put the book down...

Just finished reading Buck Brannamans The Faraway Horses. This book is great. Ive just ordered his book "believe" and waiting its delivery from USA.
Enjoyed Frankie Dettoris and Ginger McCains autobiographies.

My fave horse books would have to be The Silver Brumby series by Elyne Mitchell, and then just about anything by the Pullein-Thompson sisters <nostalgic sigh>

The Irish RM by Sommerville and Ross, its about the life (the tribulations) of a Resident Magistrate in rural Ireland, lots of horsey bits and a very funny book.
