Mostly venting - stupid horse won't load

Just thought I'd give everybody an update (and btw thanks for all the comments, it was super helpful).

I had the trailer checked, nothing wrong with it, but the wheels were older than they should be. Service tech said that the rubber turns stiff over time even though they're not particularly worn. It means, he said, that the horse will feel the tiniest bumps sharply - and he said it before I told him the horse wouldn't load. So, had the tires changed - and then decided I definitely needed a new trailer anyway! Sold the old one in one day, and bought another one with a front ramp. Had the cowboy trainer come out a few times, and with a couple of nerve wracking set-backs the horse now loads without a care in the world! The front ramp is fantastic to train with, in-stop-out front, in-stop-out back, left, right etc. Crossing-fingers for problem solved! And btw the horse was checked too, nothing wrong with him physically...
