Mum and Peter came up to see us this afternoon as Aunty Ro and the irishman have gone away now that boxing day has finished, but they didn't arrive until nearly time to come in, so I wasn't expecting mum to take us for a ride. Tom said they wouldn't bother either.
Next thing I know mum has my rug off and my bridle on.
then she put the numnah over my back, and did it up with Tom's girth (which nearly went twice round me
- must ask him how he got so round). Then, shock of all shocks, she got on, just there, with no saddle or stirrups or anything!! we did circles in the field and then peter got on instead of mum and he let me gallop up the long side of the big field
He's so much more fun than Mum is.
Now, I've been here 6 years and this has never happened before... I can only assume that the pair of them have gone utterly stark raving bonkers!
It was quite nice though, not to have the saddle on though, I could relax a bit and didn't feel it quite so necessary to resist the contact. mum said that I looked much more settled when Peter was riding me than I usually do. I wonder whether I'll be allowed to go hunting with just a numnah thing on instead of a saddle? Mum says now the snow has gone we can go hunting tomorrow! Woooo!!!
