Help! I know I've left it late but I am STUMPED for a mother's day gift idea for my mum: she doesn't ride anymore due to arthritis but has three retired field ornaments, all with their own various ailments and foibles. She likes reading and also keeps chickens but standard mothers day 'pamper items' are a hard no, she's not into that kind of stuff at all. I don't want to repeat any recent gifts (birthday/christmas) which were several very nice rugs for her wimpy thoroughbred, a new, custom built run for her chickens, and good quality base layers/thermals for winter use. But I don't know what to get that's 1) meaningful; 2) useful; and 3) (preferably) not exorbitantly expensive. Sealskin gloves were suggested but she prefers not wearing gloves because she feels it reduces her dexterity - she's been hunkering after some mud control mats for years, but I can't afford that kind of expenditure right now sadly.
Ideas, please?

What about a gift voucher towards a photoshoot of her retired horses? (+/- your Mum in the photos depending on preference). Something for her to be able to treasure. Depending on your budget you may be able to pay for the whole photoshoot plus some prints or just a chunk of it

Similar to above but what about a painting of the three horses. I realise it wouldn't be done by the w/e but you could show her examples of a chosen artist and then make the arrangements.

I’ve just received my mother’s day present from my lot, which I chose. A new pink bucket for my wheelbarrow! The last one has holes but it’s very old. My eldest will put it on at the weekend for me and he usually does a full valet on my car too.

How about something very practical? I’d love a ridiculously expensive shavings fork or broom, something I couldn’t justify buying myself.
