Inspired by this thread a couple of weeks ago http://www.horseandhound.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=469991 I decided that I should only own 2 field ornaments instead of 3.

So for the last couple of weeks I unretired (is there such a word) my daughters 21 year old ex coloured show cob.

I have brought it back into light work (plod round the fields) and spent ages turning it back into a show pony. Its gone from hair ball to sleek shiny clipped out show cob (slightly overweight and not very fit) but not bad.

Yesterday we went to our first show. Only did the inhand veteran and coloured due to both of us being unfit and actually rode it in the ring in the tack and turnout. Perhaps describing this as ridden is not very accurate. We walked into the ring, stood in a line and then trotted out.

We got a place in all three and actually won prize money.

I had never even sat on this pone before in the 10 years we have owned her and I really enjoyed myself.

So I'm back to showing but I've moved up from groom and driver to actually competing. Just shows the power of internet forums.

Funnily enough S Sami and I were talking on Saturday about what you were doing now L isn't showing as much! Good on you and I hope you really enjoyed it. I am sure the very beautiful Tilly would have really enjoyed being back out again too. x

Thanks, is that you Heather. I didn't know you had a Hafflinger.

I haven't seen you both for ages. Are you going to the sale in a couple of weeks.

Hi, yes I think Martin is wanting to go but the girls are due in from France at 5 so I may have to make a dash from the airport. Lyric is Sami's girl, you should come and see the 'herd', it is up to 14 now - Martin is a very bad influence!!
